I really cannot think of when that has ever happened in any zombie story. I havent read World War Z so im not sure there but everything else i have seen or read that never happens.

Shawn of the Dead spoofed it because of how often it happens. That's all I know though since I'm not really a zombie buff.

Return of the Living Dead - the military nuked the city..
Return of the Living Dead II - the military came in and burned what was left with flamethrowers..
Resident Evil 2 - Umbrella's military comes in and quarantines and takes over.. then puts an end to the town..
Shaun of the Dead - spoofed the return of the living dead 1 and 2
28 Weeks Later - I believe the military comes in and takes over.. I still haven't seen it.

There are quite a few other ones but well, there are a lot of zombie films out there and I can't even remember the names to all of the ones I've seen.

I have a pet peeve when people call 28 days later a zombie movie. Theyre not zombies lol. Theyre infected...which is different....somehow...:).

Anyways, I still think it would add a different thing to the story that we havent seen yet. Where is the old structure? What happened to everyone else? I mean seriously the zombies are slow and stupid. It wouldnt be that hard for the military to gather up and march tanks and platoons through the country and kill them. Night of the Living dead did it with a sheriffs posse.

I think that's what we're building towards here though. Having Rick and company do just that. I think part of it will be eventually running into a group that's doing the same (whether it be the military or whoever). You can have a very interesting story about the distrust the two groups would have for one another having seen the worst elements of humanity and now staring face to face with another group who experienced the same thing. Just bringing in the military is a dues ex machina and I think Kirkman is smarter than that.

As far as the whole, wouldn't the military just put a stop to it. I'm sure there would be pockets of military resistance, but I don't think you're thinking about this logically. Having a large military force requires a functioning society to supply it. You will eventually run out of bullets and food. Not to mention the fact that the military population compared to the general population is a fraction of the size. We also don't have a large standing army in the US that would have been able to just spring into action and wipe out the zombies when society started to fall. They wouldn't know how the infection was spreading initially or that everyone who dies comes back, or even that killing them requires a shot to the brain. Plus, you're forgetting the human element to. Many's first reaction would be to go home and protect their family, not run to a military base. The first reaction to an infected person wouldn't be to kill them because you wouldn't know if they could be saved. It's not cut and dry, if it was it'd be boring.

Im not trying to offend you but when you said think about it logically i LOLed.

Im just saying that zombies, although, large in number, really wouldnt be that big of a threat. The military is big enough to do just that. And it wouldnt be all that difficult to guard certain points of interest in the U.S. to make sure we could still suply food and ammunition. Hell, thats pretty much what I did in the Middle East. Guard certain POIs and defend them from hostile groups and zones. And those "hostiles" were armed and could think and move fast.

I'm glad you LOL'd. I don't think even what you're saying is the same. I didn't say there wasn't the possibility of pockets of resistance. The total population of the US, most of who would be either dead or zombies, aren't there to supply the military. Also, there are still supply lines to a POI being protected, and those were planned out. A "zombie apocalypse" wouldn't be like going to war.

Since when did Kirkman become GRRM? Wow. Not one of these people are safe.

The other ones weren't worth it; considering that the poster and Chromium are 10 bucks each.

Couple questions. Whats up with Walking Dead Weekly!? They need to continue it! It's how I am getting caught up on this awesome series! Also, if its unfortunately not continuing, wheres a good place to get back up issues for a cheap price (Don't care if its mint or if its in good condition.)
