Holy SHIT!! MAJOR # 98 spoilers ahead:
spoilers:end of spoilers
Noooo! They killed Abe! Those BASTARDS! Like a BITCH, too. UGgghh. I'm pissed. I mean, I get that bad stuff happens here, but he was one of my favorite characters. I was really looking forward to seeing Rick's current core crew wreaking havoc and dealing with the new status quo. I hope this isn't the beginning of a major kill-off of all the characters I care about.
I'll have to re read the issue as spoilers:end of spoilers
after that page I was just skimming for others I liked to get wasted.
I havent bought an issue in a long time but i still read my friends. I really dont care for this book at all but I did like Abraham. It made little to no sense to kill him, pretty much like everybody else. And especially like a bitch. Abe deserved better and so did Tyrese.
Honestly, (not trying to troll) but Kirkman could be one of the worst writers ever. I really dont see why everyone likes this book. There is absolutley no substance to it. Not to mention Rick could be the biggest asshole leading character ever.

You hate the comic but still read it? That's that fine line between love and hate, right?
Firstly, you should consider spoiler tags in a general discussion thread on the day of an issue's release.
Secondly, I couldn't disagree with you more on Kirkman. He's one of the most engaging writers in comics right now. His characters are varied, vibrant, and well developed. His plots are entertaining and surprising and the interactions between his casts of characters is always a treat. His dialogue isn't always great but the rest of his strengths that I just mentioned much more than make up for it. His success is neither surprising nor undeserved.

Sorry about spoilers anyone who read it and didnt know:)
Agree to disagre I guess. I just think his writing is really watered down and immature. It feels like anyone could write what hes doing. Its not hard to have a plot with no substance and just kill everything that gets in your way. Its just that none of his stuff makes sense. I dont go "Holy Smokes" like most people do when they read TWD but more like "Huh?"

Ill pretty much read anything , especially for in the john:) I dont hate it per se but i just dont really care for it anymore. It died for me right about the end of the Prison arc. It just had a total 180 IMO.
It will be interesting to see how much creative influence Tony Moore had and for how long it extended after he stopped doing art. It almost feels as if he had a big hand in it and then when his influence stopped it flipped into all Kirkman and just got really weird and sloppy.

As far as anyone knows, all Tony Moore did was draw the first 6 (7?) issues and some covers. He didn't come up with the concept, characters, or even the designs (depending on who to believe, it sounds like Kirkman's descriptions were very detailed). He had no involvement in the concept, plot, or writing and hasn't been around in a long, long time. Not sure why you would think that he had much influence. Good or bad, this is Kirkman's baby plot, concept, and character wise.

Yeah, Tony kept drawing covers but had no hand in it beyond that. Personally, I love the post prison issues.
And Im sure youre right. It just seemed to me to really just flip on its ear at a certain point. Just a thought that maybe thats what could have occured. Good, bad, or ugly there is no denying that Kirkman came up with something that people like and I do give him props for that. Its just not really my cup of tea anymore.
Side note: I did meet Tony Moore this past weekend at a a comic con. He and his wife were super nice.

so
spoilers:end of spoilers
Abraham gets an arrow through the head and dies
Carl gets a chunk of his head blown off and lives
oh dear
so it flipped on its ear 86 issues ago? And you keep reading a book you think the writer sucks? Moore is a great artist, but he had very little contribution to the success of this book. Aldred has had more influence. Your post is very trollish, and I'm not helping by responding. But Kirkman killing off major characters in non-event issues, in non-splash page fashion, is one of the things that makes this book so f'n good. Death is random, anybody can die or get maimed in this world. I had zero clue opening this book up that ______ was going to die, and the way it happens is just as random as life presents. No rules, clearly. Just because you have been a major character for years, and a popular one at that, doesn't mean you are immune from a red shirt type death. Kirkman writes this book extremely well and aggressively chaotic.
This issue was stunning.
The other thing is killing characters randonly. Its totally for shcok value and I dont think it has any substance to it. Not to mention it looks a little disrespectful to the characters to people who have followed the book for a long time.
But like I said i dont buy it but just read it. And just stating my opinion.
Read Comics. Be Happy.
The link was for amusement for the most part but as you continue trying to defend your opinion, it makes me think you do actually need to read the link.
You actually said..
"But really if ur gonna be on here be prepared for spoilers if u havent read it."
Um, no.. that just doesn't fly because people have known long before the net that you don't spoil stories, films, games, or anything else when they're still considered "new", at least not without a warning before doing so. And since the title of this thread isn't "The Walking Dead Spoilers", a lot of people come here expecting not to have a brand new issue spoiled for them.
As for shock value, I can only assume that at times he does do things for shock value, such as having Carl get his eyeball shot out. However, he's also just sticking to what he said very early on when that no one in the book is safe. I believe I read recently where they did kill off a few characters just to prove once and for all to fans of the book that they weren't bluffing. The thing is they are in a war, there's no time for buildup or mourning, there's just enough time to fight back or retreat. And although we lost a character many here liked today, we also got to see another character finally show some balls. And well, I have a new found respect for the guy because what he did was really ballsy, he just totally bit back hard.
