I missed the boat on this series. When it first came out I ignored it cuz I thought the whole zombie thing had over-run itself.

I eventually checked out the show, and got pretty hooked pretty quick, but still for some reason kept away from the comics.

Then about 2 weeks ago I decided the hell with it and went to buy all the trades and a few comics after that to get me current. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. Finished off all 15 trades and 91 - 94 in about 3 days.

This is my new favorite series. My big problem now is actually waiting for each issue.

After grabbing the new one yesterday:

This is exactly what I'm thinking.

Glad you're on board. Waiting a month between issues is going to be absolute torture for you after getting to read almost 100 issues at once.

even after you're used to it, it's still a long wait sometimes.
at least for me, because I don't read a lot of series.

Rick is so freakin' badass now. He's the last dude to jump with a knife at this point. Of course he's going to grab it and slit your throat.

Maybe I'm the only one that felt this way, but I thought Rick's move was stupid. I get taking the guy down and all, but just killing him immediately was dumb. The guy could of had info. Also, there could be things with the community and the way they handle justice. It was hot headed and didn't seem necessary cause Rick could of subdued him without killing him. I thought the abruptness of it was a little convenient story wise, but I Kirkman did need to pick up the pace of this arc so I can live with it and I am excited for where things are going. I liked the one idea someone said of getting back to the community and it being all but wiped out and overrun. And the idea of warring "tribes" fighting over resources.

He's a one-handed dude with a guy on top of him trying to kill him. Not sure why you're so confident that he could subdue him. You do what you have to do.

We've seen him do worse. He took control of the blade and pushed it into the guy's throat so he clearly had some control of the weapon. Also saw him choke Martinez to death with one hand and go toe-to-toe with Tyrese who is twice his size. Guessing he's pretty damn strong. Plus, the guy wasn't trying to kill Rick, he was trying to get him out of his way.

I think its a bit like people being able to lift cars off of hurt loved ones cuz of the adrenaline. Rick's just crazy ready to throw down with whatever might be a threat. One handed or not.

Really enjoyed this issue and the end completely caught me off guard. It really shows just how far Rick has come as a person. When before he agonised over killing Dexter and Martinez he simply feels no remorse for killing poor, poor Ethan. Things are certainly heating up and I'm looking forward to this tribal warfare. I hope Kirkman does NOT have Rick return to the Safe-Zone overrun and almost everyone killed. I mean, they've been taking various measures to defend their home and it would be a little convenient plotwise. What I think may happen is that in Rick's long absence Abraham steps up as the new leader of the safe-zone (influenced by Holl) and will come into conflict with Rick upon his return.

Also, on a side note, is Gregory the leader of the Hilltop? Jesus said it was a man called Kenneth an issue or two ago. Or is Gregory simply a bit of a bragger? Also, I liked the way he constantly interrupted Rick. It's little character traits like this that are needed to stop characters becoming far too similar. You follow me?

On the last page Rick should have said, "d'oh".

And so far Rick hasn't killed anyone who is innocent, unlike that Zimmerman guy in Florida, Rick actually has just been standing his ground. People have come with him at knifes, by endangering his child, and by pointing a gun at him, and he's defended himself.

And Lincoln's portrayal of Rick in the show, wow. The episode where he shot down the guys in the bar made Clint Eastwood look like a girly man.\

    Two examples..

Some people still have that collector mentality. I mean... there are people that pick up every variant and seconded printing, which to me seems like a waste of money. But hey, they need to have it all...

I just dont see how a person can own the singles and still wait for the trade to come out before reading it. I buy the singles read them and then buy the trades for my re-reads

You're probably right. I've noticed new characters usually mean someone else has to go.
