It is also rumored that ATI is involved in the development, so backwards compatibility should be nothing less than guaranteed.
... The Master Of Puppets has spoken.
Goodbye León (november 16th, 1993 - june 12th, 2009). You were, are and always will be the best friend I ever had. I will always love you and never forget you. And please, please forgive me.
Thank you for teaching me about love, patience and caring. Rest in Peace, my friend. I hope that wherever it is you are now, you can run and play as much as you want.
New update: It will have a 75% failure rate until about a year in!
Nothing's gonna happen without a warning
In fairness, I have had a release day Xbox 360 and have -never- had a problem with it.
Most times I hear of people having problems with it is when they move it from a standing position to a laying position or vice versa while it is running and then it does damage to a disk and can cause damage to the rest of it.
One guy I know builds furniture for the Atlanta Falcons (including TV's that come out of the ceiling over the bed when a remote button is hit) and his blew out an Xbox of a players by building a cabinet for an xbox 360 but not taking the units heat into mind when the cabinet was built and he had to buy the guy a new xbox 360.
Are they infallable? No, but they were far better quality than the PS3 on release day. A shop owner told me he had to replace 1 out of every 4 PS3's that he sold. He also told me that he always told customers that he only had 1 ps3 left in stock to get them to buy it but he had boxes full in the back at the same time that he could not keep a wii in stock. My how the times have changed.
They're boasting this, while realizing that this processor tech is almost 5 years out of date, compared to high end PC.
But I can see why they would use this tech to reduce the costs of the new system from the price of a mid-level desktop ($800-1200) to the "small" price of probably 500 or 600 bucks.
You just have to be cool about it...
Yes yes yes, everyone has their own anecdotadle story, heres mine.
3 360s, none played a lot, all broke, 2 broke in less then 3 months, 1 broke in 1 month after 4 games were played on it, millions of people have stories like yours, millions of people have stories like mine.
When you buy 3 ps3s and they all break on you i won't yell at you when you make fun of sony.
Nothing's gonna happen without a warning
I make fun of Sony because I never wanted a PS3. If they can't make me wish I had one then it's epic fail.
Anyways the rumor has it that the new Xbox will not allow used games to be played on it. Each game may come with a one time use code to activate the game.
mine. My 360's power supply caught fire out of the blue, frying the inside of the XBox with it. I called Microsoft to complain and they basically told me not to call back. *sigh*
That's almost word for word what they said about the PS3 before it's debut. Until Sony backpeddled furiously in the face of complaints. Honestly, I'm starting to think Nintendo starts those rumors just to troll.
My first Xbox was an Xbox Elite and it lasted almost two years before the red light of death which was fine with me as it barely fell into Best Buy's warrenty so I got an arcade model plus one hundred dollars back and that has lasted me for a few years at this point.
Back on topic the new rumor is that the new Xbox won't play used games.![]()
