Because if it's the latter, and if it has the same functionality as a main forum, but it's linked to, say, the Community Forum, then I don't see an issue with being a sub-forum. And if after some time, it warrants it's own full forum, then so much the better.
We tend to make Sub-forum thread moderated. Which means new threads must be posted or approved by the mod(s) of the Sub-Forum. Posting in threads is the same as normal forums.

But as ED said, it seems this a real narrow topic even for a Sub-Forum.
Jonah, owner of CBR, has recently stated that he doesn't like making even making new Sub-Forums unless there is a really compelling reason.

Seriously Green Lantern has it's own forum and everytime I glance at it there are 3-4 people viewing MAX at any time. So if a forum with so little traffic can survive a Collected Editions forum needs to happen.
The GL forum is looking like it will be merged back into the DCU forum at the end of the month.

But funnily enough, that post was #52 in that thread. Serendipity abounds
I'm pretty sure a Collected Editions forum would have more traffic than the GL forum.

Don't pay cover price for comics, I don't. Use DCBservice.com

So we'll have a space free then?

It's always nice to have a clear, straightforward answer! I know community management like that takes a ton of resources.

Hopefully we can make the most of our now THREE threads (!!) with awesome conversations and useful content and revisit this conversation sometime in the future ;)

I wish CBR had a forum for custom binding, discuss mapping and places to do binding.
Today, I make no demands... no threats! But, one day, I shall voice demands -- and all shall obey them!

That could be this proposed forum!

Agreed, I'd probably frequent such a forum.

At the rate the Marvel Omnibus thread is moving, it seems like a Collected Editions Forum would be a good idea. People are having trouble keeping up with the fast moving thread which has several discussions going on at once. At least in its own forum these discussions could all have their own threads.

Wouldn't this be the only place in the forum where DC, Marvel and Independent fans alike could discuss their love for collected editions?
It'd be like a beacon of unity for the entire comics community.

good Idea. If some else does the work I'm sure the owner won't mind.

The collected editions forum would be a source of information. (please temporarily hold any thoughts on DC and Marvel)

There is a sticky of a list of collected editions in the community forum that CHANGES through ...ARGUEMENTS! heh
In the Community Specific forum it's called 25 greatest comics Rolling list.
It changes as people argue for the top 25 spots.

I understand it is aimed at creating discussions of titles. That is fine by itself.

...and yet this is counter intuitive to what I want from my CBR.
I want lists of titles and information
I want opinions on art and story and production.
I want descriptions and physical features
I want it all in one place easily categorized

Can you set up a new forum or sub forum, include a Hardcover trade thread and a softcover trade thread, all laid out from the beginning?

So far, it's looking like it will not happen. It doesn't fit how Jonah, the owner of CBR, likes the boards to be setup and separated.

I would also be visiting a thread like this. Definitely liking the idea of having it all collected in one spot.

Do you know why he dislikes this idea? Not trying to be annoying here, just genuinely curious as to why there will be no subforum. :)
