Personally (first 6, or 7 issues, I forget) I didn't like the pointless retcons/history resets, but ignoring that, it's been a solid title. Good story, characters and art. Batgirl is very out of place in this new BOP though.

I loved all of Gail's runs on BoP but I really wasn't on board with this reboot. It was one of the few books I passed on. But as the months went by I kept hearing great things about this comic. I relented and picked up the back issues. It's an absolutely great book! Starling is the new character of the year!

There's a lot to like about it, but it's big problem for me is that Dinah feels a lot less kick-ass than her pre-Flashpoint incarnation. For me, Black Canary is Birds of Prey, but this Dinah just seems to be one of the crowd, and she feels like much more of a supporting character than she's ever done in the book. I miss the take charge, witty, level headed, intelligent woman that impressed Lady Shiva and was one of the top 10 fighters of the old DCU. This Dinah seems... I dunno... like a watered down version of herself, both in terms of her personality and her ability.

The one time we have seen a glimpse of the 'old' Dinah, was in her appearance in Batgirl #7. As I've mentioned before, we're in a weird situation right now where Dinah and Babs are being better portrayed in each other's books!

Even though I am liking the book there has been something off for me and this is it...Starling has become what Canary was and Canary has has kind of settled down a little. This plus the glaring absence of Zinda. I do miss Zinda.

Well, since Blackhawks crashed and burned . . . why can't they reintroduce Zinda into the DCnU?

(And if you need her to have World War II experience or something, she could have jumped over from Earth-2 or something . . . if Power Girl and Huntress can do that, . . . )

They can re-introduce her through one of the Flash's wormholes. Whatever they do or don't do with her will displease someone so they'll do things on their own clock.

I find this book to just be okay.
It's a solid read that never makes me regret my buy but I also wouldn't call it a stand out. That first arc was way too long for my taste and I thought it was dumb to end the last issue with the reveal that Dinah spoilers:
is on the run for murdering her husband
end of spoilers even though we knew that before the first issue hit the stand.

Overly-long first arcs seem to be a complaint abount many of the DCnU titles.

Out of place? But she's teaming with Black Canary. Perfect fit! Those two are the core of the Birds of Prey universe.

Love this book. Great cast, fun story so far (love memory tampering stuff). Been a great read.

I just read #9 on this relaunched series. I will still say, that I still like the series and DS's approach to the team. The team is more lethal than the previous incarnation. However, this team is somewhat cold. Simone's approach to the team when she was writing it, was the team having humanity and empathy towards each other. At the same time, the different locations worldwide provides an excellent background to the books. Exotic locations highlight the humanity of her BoP team in contrast to the location.
