Wonder Woman will never appear on the big screen, give up already.

Ok, I finally saw Haywire via Netflix recently. No, Carano can't act, but she does have a look, physique and even a voice that kinda, sorta works. She would need a lot, A LOT, of acting lessons, to even make serious film makers begin to consider her, BUT, I've heard worse ideas.

Despite it not doing well, at all, John Carter made me begin to consider Lynn Collins as Diana.

(lol, just from googling right now, I see I'm not the only one thinking this)

She definitely has the look, can act (better than some of our other choices), as demonstrated as Dejah; can look regal and warrior-like, all at once.

She reminds me of Claudia Black, who when I first saw her thought would fit the part well.

I'm not saying she's a great actress, but in some fairness to Gina in Haywire, it's not a particularly well-done movie. Big name actors, but not a stellar acting performance all around.

I enjoyed the movie for what it is, but it's not a great movie.

Thanks. I just hope the fact that she was part of one of the biggest flops in history, doesn't hurt her chances (and her future film work).

I actually thought John Carter was pretty good, but I only had a very basic knowledge of the characters. Apparently, the combination of no real big-name stars, with a not-well-known character, really poor promotions/advertisements, and a big-budget was enough to totally kill John Carter at the Box Office.

I really enjoyed the first half or 2/3 of the movie.
I remember thinking that all of a sudden the movie got really bad really fast.
LC is gorgeous though and I think she'd make a fab. WW.
Her swordplay scenes were very convincing.
(To be honest I'd like to see her bulk up just a touch more if she got the role though.)

Not in its current state, no. Believe in change.

This is a great idea. I had no idea who Collins was before I saw the movie, but she really impressed me. She sold the 'warrior' and the 'princess' aspects of the character really well; plus, she was some sort of scientist too.

Poor John Carter. It was good enough that it deserved to be a hit, but it isn't weird or quirky enough that it could ever become a cult classic that gets favorably reassessed in ten years time like The Fifth Element or Dark City. And mostly because of a monumentally crappy ad campaign.

As I was watching Lynn Collins in that movie, I was thinking "Why the hell did they decide they didn't want to market this to girls?" Deja Tores was an actual 'strong female character' in the best sense. Not a scantily clad model acting tough until she needs to be recused, but a confident, competent, intelligent warrior woman who just happens to be sexy. She could have had the kudos that Black Widow is now getting.

I've had the same feeling about Collins. Problem is,(at 35) like a lot of actresses that came before her capable of pulling off a convincing Diana, the window of opportunity is closing fast (assuming tptb are even considering her). To think that we could've gotten something like this 10 or so years ago:

    Agree.
It would have to happen in the next 2-3 years if LC is to be the next WW.
Damn shame about that though as I think she'd be very convincing.
Any other young up-and-commers people have noticed?

What about Amber Heard (with a dye job)?

The Dino De Laurentis King Kong was not only a huge commercial disappointment but a horrible movie as well. But its unknown leading lady, Jessica Lange, managed to have a career in Hollywood.

I think Amber Heard would have to do a lot of working out. She is pretty, but also hollywood thin, which is not a good term in this case.
