That's what I'm calling it. I think tonight I've had the most fun playing any sort of MMO/ARPG. Hulk Smash! :)

I really think that's a typo or some mistake. I think what they meant is that they're taking in players, but not that there's going to be open beta. The devs have made it clear in several interviews that open beta would be like going live and that wouldn't make sense for them to do that. So when the games gets out of beta, they would more than likely just go live.

IDK, X. I joined SHSO during the summer last year, sometime in late June I think, 'round when X-men: First Class was out in theaters. SHSO was promoting it by releasing what I had been waiting for, a bunch of playable X-characters, including the likes of Gambit, Rogue, & Emma. But for me especially, the revamped & reissued O5 Marvel Girl version of Jean Grey. Anyway, for months I played what I thought was the final product, completely finished & available to the public - eXcept for updates adding new content of course. Turns out I was wrong, and had only been playing open beta. It might've been September, October, or November, not eXactly sure, but the game was then announced as officially going public. Could've just been my ignorance to the progressive nature of MMOs in general, I suppose, but nevertheless - there ya go.

Edit: What I mean is, when I first played SHSO, the signs could've been there that it was only open beta & I didn't see them. I didn't know much about MMOs at the time & still don't really. Also, the situations between SHSO & MHO could be completely different for all I know, not one in the same thing.
