Champions Online had the best character creator. You really could screw with the bodies.

I never got into CO. I'd rather get into DCUO first. For some reason I had a hard time running CO. But you cannot create your own character's in this MMO. You know that right? :P

Unless they have to where you can customize there powers to set up what talents or attacks or something. Not sure how they're gonna do it.

DCUO only allowed three body shapes which I hated.

Yeah, no character creation. Unless they somehow allow some type of customization. I think they didn't want the player to feel like the "sidekick" but depending how NYCC goes next week. May have interesting news about this.

Character creation is the best part of an MMO. A damn shame.

I'd still like to see what the deal is, but my curiosity is severely lowered now.

Yeah... Kinda sucks. I'm not sure if it's gonna be more of a SHSO adult type version or a Marvel Ultimate Alliance game. I really hope this game is very active and successful. I am having high hopes for this.

As much as I tease their slowness of info, their models are pretty good.

You know what Marvel should do? Make the best character models, and then just use them for their future games so they don't have to waste time building from the ground out to build another Wolverine and just go wild without having to worry about their basics.

Yeah, I like the models they are doing a good job so far.

It would make sense but I guess it all depends on what type of game they make also. If they make another sort of MMO after this one. Even though I still wonder why they would release a model version of Deadpool first. I can understand Wolverine but my guess would of been Cyclops or maybe Storm.

Indeed. Yet I am still playing City of Heroes after 6 years. Its not about how awesome a game looks, its also about content... and they continue to deliver. Didn't like DCUO at all. Also didn't see the appeal of Champions Online. I don't have a lot of hope for MUO. On the other hand...

I quit City of Heroes for the one purpose of the debt system. To me that was just awful. It sucked knowing if you died once you would go back down in XP. I didn't want something like that. Champions Online was not fun at all.

DCUO on the other hand is something different. As much of a fan as I am of Marvel over DC it's a change of pace for me. Plus with it going F2P within the next 2-3 weeks I will be getting back into it.

Yeah, you will be eligible to play as Squirrel Girl. It has been confirmed by them that she will make an appearance. With NYCC coming up next week, I will be updating this thread for whatever info I can grab for it. So far the model versions that are currently out is Deadpool/Wolverine. I assume you've seen those. :P

so we chose existing marvel characters to play as? I dont want multiple charaters running around, so I wonder how that will work, regardless I'll be going for scarlet spider or gravity as quick as I can (hopefully they will be in the game)

That is correct. Since they wanted to go from a different approach from DC Universe Online. They didn't want the user to feel like the "sidekick" as far as multiple clones running around I'm not sure how they are gonna handle it. They've said in there interviews that they have a really good answer to that question but they cannot release any information yet.

The only thing I could think of is if the game is really instanced heavy or first come first server. But that would have to be multiple servers. Right now, it's gonna have the biggest cast out of any game so far.

I will post more information about this in the upcoming week after NYCC :)

hmmn they best have a good plan cause I dont wanna drop money on it to find out I have to be a character I don't like or have never heard of - I'm hoping I'll be able to get my hands on Gravity though

also if its first come 1st serve I bet there will be some big ebay auctions

The game will be free to play, so no spending if you don't want to. Which they did say they would have some sort of microtransactions.

I'm not sure if you could auction anything? They could have that at the current time that you are online and you were the first one to choose say.. Wolverine. You could have that one character taken until you log off or go afk for a certain amount of time. Or if you wanted to switch characters.. But like I said earlier they have a really good answer for this and I'm waiting to see what it is.

I really would not want to see that if you were in a guild or party and if you could see your members being the same person as you are. Doing a mission with 3 Thor's would just be extremely bad.

The only thing I can figure why microtransactions would be in the game is if you could either buy more gold/silver for your account or different costumes. If the game is very well handled and the game play is a lot of fun I don't mind putting money into this one.

I know it wont be allowed but people would ebay the big characters

I personally wouldnt want the changing character everytime I log in but I guess it makes it fair - I dont think I would want to be a big character in one of these games

Yep, which I see nothing wrong with this. Cause most MMO's that are going free to play but do have microtransactions have been doing much better.

How so? I think you have me misunderstood if they have to where first come first serve. Yes, you could pick the big name characters but I'm not sure if you would control them forever. So, therefor you cannot go on ebay to sell anything. But that's just my opinion. We could both be wrong on how they have this setup for character selection. :)
