I'm just really happy that the Jim Cheung covers are the regular ones. Those things are stinking beautiful. Hopefully he does all 12 covers.

Love the cover and the implications it implies. So it looks like the Avengers will be fighting the X-men on their home turf. I'd say that gives the advantage to the X-men, but their turf is just a hunk of rock in San Francisco Bay. That's not much to defend and I suspect that the whole idea of concentrating mutants on a central location will come back to haunt Cyclops. And in the background, once again it looks like Hope Summers is adopting some very Jean Grey-ish imagery. She had a similar state during Second Coming when she used the Phoenix Force to take down Bastion. But if that was just a prelude, what more could she do with it? I'm also left to wonder if by now she's aware of what happened to Cable in X-Sanction. If so, then she might have a number of reasons to be pissed with the Avengers. And with the Phoenix Force, she would have all the power she needs to take out her frustrations on them.

I hope so too, these are just stunning.

"I think this is something the X-Men have been headed toward since before I got involved," Jason Aaron said in a 2011 conference for the event. "There were millions of mutants and then one day that number dwindled down to a few hundred because of what Scarlet Witch did." The writer further explained he has picked up on the thread of Hope Summers role as the "Mutant Messiah." "She is the mutant messiah. It's not conjecture as far as Cyclops is concerned...coming out of 'Schism,' Cyclops is becoming harder edged. He had a philosophical split with the guy who was his top adviser for so long in Wolverine."
Oh damn, sounds like Cyclops is going to go off the deep end in this event.

Now, is so obvious who the winner should be, that it means Tony will be popping a rabbit out his helmet or the fight will be over in seconds. Magneto still needs to win this one.

In many of this face offs the natural winner seems to be the mutants, but since the winnings need s to be balanced I am looking forward to watch how the battles unfold.

Great. More speculation about which side Logan will take. I really hope he ends up on the side of the mutants (his "family") and not the feds.

And where is Hope's father in all of this? Surely they didn't bring Cable back just to kill him or ditch him in the timestream again!? That would be ass if they did.

Wolverine has alot of balls to come back to Utopia to take away hope. I also wonder why is Rouge there. Maybe just doped by for a visit or something.

    Dunno.
Magneto powers almost give it a automatic victory against Iron Man i say.
Granted Iron Man have proved to be resourceful in the past against more powerful villains so maybe in this round there will be a surprise about who will win this one.

    Rogue Vs. Thor Round 2.

I hope they remember she once defeated the entire team by herself (though she had Ms. Marvel's powers).

Not to sound cynical, but most of these covers...look exactly the same to me.

Ah I'm weary about this one Magneto is the stable quality we generally know how he will use his powers but Tony is the inventive one for example in the House of M Iron Man book, Tony managed to build off screen but with a lot of time a armour which was completely immune to Mag's and that was SuperCharged Magneto powers.

In short if the author wakes Tony in the middle of the night and throws him at Mags it's a X-Win if Bendis gives him so lab and prep time it could be a A-win.
