Supergirl on the new 52 is amazing! I am really happy with the direction they are going in with Action Comics. Finally Superman loses his goldenboy attitude. Oh and Supergirl is hot! :P

Im only still getting 4 comics from the new 52 and two of them is Batgirl and Supergirl, they are mainly for my daughter but if she stopped i would continue getting Supergirl

Good news is that DC included Supergirl with the first wave of character bios on their new website so that shows the importance in which they hold her.

Bad news, its awful. 1/3 of it is about Superman and some weird suggestion that Supergirl is Superman had he come to earth as a teen and not been raised by ma and pa Kent which is a hell of a stretch even beyond the obvious.

I'd probably amalgamise her with Ms Marvel. Not only because of the physical similarity and the similar level of power but also the fact she is the female aspect of the Captain Marvel brand (even though she's overshadowed him and been allowed to) and has stepped up into the highest level of hero team in their respective worlds. There is not really another character like that in Marvel unless you want to say Thor has a female aspect in Valkyrie or Thor Girl which could probably work just as well considering Thor is Marvel's Superman in essentials. I don't consider Valkyrie or Thor Girl to have the same cache in Marvel that Supergirl has at DC though.

All three Marvel franchises? Avengers, Spidey and X-Men? I don't think there is a character in either Spidey or X Men that matches Kara. In personality I guess you can work the Kitty Pryde angle but that is a stretch.
