Love that cover! And yeah this Kara needs a BFF to be totally gay over. A movie night eating caramel popcorn or something.
Something tells me it isn't going to be this guy. Don't forget to pick up Superboy tomorrow for your Kara fix!!!

MY favorite Supergirl image.
Ororo Munroe: I have no powers, my body cannot fly. But I no longer mind, for in my heart and soul -- where it truly matters -- I soar higher than the stars!
It's sort of me being silly but not. Basically, I think in Miller's run on Batgirl it wasn't out of the realm of possibility for Steph and Kara to like each other like that. The way they worked off each other, the smaller gestures - it seemed to me that something more could easily have worked. Heck, in one issue Kara pretty much outright says that she's wanting to see Steph's bra (to see if it has bats on it). It's really just interpretation more than anything.
Oh, and this:
Still - could have been a good thing. :(
Pulling: Whispers, 2000AD, Red Sonja: Unchained, Amala's Blade, Princeless
I don't think the Bat joke was about Kara wanting to see Steph's bra. Kara thinks Steph has her costume on underneath her outfit like her. She doesn't. So Steph says all you'll see is her bra and Kara thinks that will do as long as it has a bat on it.
Seriously, women CAN NOT show signs of affection toward each other, someone somewhere will automaticallly assume they´re lesbians.
Uh... no? It's a case of having a bit of a joke and just saying it's possible given how Kara and Steph have been represented. I've never claimed that Kara and Steph are actually gay characters, simply that I feel it's possible to interpret their relationship as one that could easily be romantic.
They're two fun-loving girls who work off each other brilliantly, who are comfortable around each other and who kick butt.
And even if it does go further than that - how is it a bad thing? The comic industry needs more gay characters and/or female-centric relationships. Heck, Steph and Kara could easily have been turned into an experimentation arc of sorts which saw them exploring themselves and each other - something very few mainstream comics do, even with your standard heterosexual relationships.
As for the point about "women" - uh... need I remind you of Batman and Robin?

I like Supergirl but I'm not a fan of Powergirl.

More high quality new costume art by Stephane Roux
DC Women kicking Ass had a contest about the best Supergirl artist last week. I missed it and Jim Mooney lost to Asrar. (I love Mahmud's work but no) As far as I can tell Barry Kitson, Ale Garza, Joshua Middleton, Amy Reeder and Phil Noto missed the ballot.
Who is everyone's favourite Supergirl artist?
