She is my favorite female character in DC Comics. : )

Hi, I've read her introduction in Superman/Batman, and want to know, how good was the volume that started after it? Does it read well on its own or do I need to read some other titles? Which are the high points of the run? Thanks!
Yeah, Maid of Might is a GREAT fansite for info on Supergirl. The woman that runs it is a bit extreme IMO though. I remember getting into a bit of flamewar with her over the new version of Amanda Waller from Suicide Squad and as near as I could tell, we AGREED with each other.
lol oh well.
Also, I find that this topic has a disturbing lack of Linda Danvers in it.
Also, I LOVE the new Kara. They had to kill Linda to bring Kara back but I feel like they finally got her personality right. The previous Kara looked nice/had some nice artwork but I HATED her personality. So far, I've really been digging the rebooted Kara. Hate her costume though :(

I actually like Matrix solo more than the beginning of Peter David's run on Supergirl. I didn't think Linda got real interesting until after Issue #50 (if you've read the series you know why...if you haven't READ IT!). Matrix was just starting to come together as a character when David's run began. I love Linda but I wish they had spent some more time doing Supergirl stories after Matrix got away from Luthor.
@MajorHoy - Yeah, I remember back when Peter David's Supergirl was starting, I was really happy that they were reintroducing some of the old backstory, names, etc. It seemed to connect Matrix, who was way different than Kara, to the old mythos nicely.
Now that we have the New 52-verse and PD's Linda is gone, I hope they are able to bring back some of the old secret identity stuff for the current Kara.

I loved the '94 mini and her arc in Showcase '95, but dropped PAD's series after the first year or so. I've since gone back and tracked down all the issues (with a handful of exceptions) but haven't managed to read them all yet. I'm waiting for the day when I can (re)start at the beginning and have a marathon session.![]()
I think we're a little ways off for a secret ID, but I see no reason why she couldn't take Linda for it. I remember in the last volume she took that single day in high school and gave up. I thought that could have been explored in a different way and for much longer.
Steph and Kara were totally gay for each other and I shall poke anyone who says otherwise quite sharply!
Anyway, I ordered the issue with this cover (#63) just to frame it. I LOVE THE ART SO MUCH.
I don't know too much about Kara - I've only got her appearances in Steph's Batgirl, Superman/Supergirl: Maelstrom and Supergirl #1 so far, but she seems kinda cool. One thing I like about her is how slim/small she is - if she's drawn right, it makes a really good change from the Greg Land-esque superheroines who plague the market.
