    I recently got :

Batman Inc. Deluxe : Really liked it.

Black Mirror : Didn't much care for it, oddly enough.

Red Robin - 7 Days of Death : Bit of a letdown, but my expectations were probably too high because of how much I loved the previous TPB.

Batgirl - The Lesson : As awesome as the other trades, I really miss this series.

Just grabbed Batwoman Elegy. Loved it. I am going to try and catch up with with the ongoing, but are there any other must read Batwoman books?

The next trade is out june 19 if you can wait http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/140123...3617359&sr=1-1

Some of pre Rucka appearances are collected in the 52 trades but these are completely skippable imo, Kate Kane as we know her didn't appear until Elegy

Yup, just grab the Hydrology (i.e Batwoman Vol 1, collects Batwoman #1-5 I believe) TPB when it comes out soon, and find Batwoman #6, #7 & #8. And voila, you now how have everything that is exclusively Batwoman's.

And then, as the above user said, number 9 is out next Wednesday, so you can hop on there and thats you :)

I loved the character too, so went back to find every substantial appearance she made, as well as Renee Montoya (her ex shown on the Police wall of fame in BW#1)- who is a great character in her own right (this then led me to back and read everything the question was in haha). Reading and knowing Renee, IMO, even without Batwoman making an appearance, is great for knowing more about Kate\BW.*

If you really want to go back and read her appearances pre-Elegy (though as was said you really don't need to) I'd recommend the following:

Gotham Central -- For Renee, no Batwoman in this series. You can read just the arcs Renee is in, but this series is FANTASTIC and I recommend it all anyway.

Renee, the Question and Batwoman all appear in the DC epic 52. Get your hands on that and read their scenes (or again, the whole thing, but it can be confusing as hell for someone not invested in the whole DCu and isn't really all that great IMO)

Crime Bible: 5 Lessons of Blood -- Renee as the new Question, Batwoman appears often here as well. Decent read as well.

I believe they both appear in Infinite Crisis?

And then you have Elegy.. (And Pipeline for Renee)

Thats all the main reading outside of Elegy the current run for Batwoman. :)

*Plus I think/Hope Renee might comeback and be in Batwoman (hopes hopes hopes)

I just picked up the DC Classics Library: The Batman Annuals vol 1 HC. The annuals it includes (1-3) came out in the early 60s, but it appears they reprinted several stories from the early 50s. This is the era of Batman I have read the least from, so I cannot wait to get started on reading this. I'd like to eventually get the second vol too, which has annuals 4-7 I believe.
Top 5 favorite current books (in no particular order): Batman Inc., Batman, Batman and Robin, Daredevil, Superior Spider-Man

There are no "pre Rucka" appearances of Kate Kane / Batwoman. She first appeared in "52", a series that was co-written by GREG RUCKA.

While I do think 52 was a good story and I'd recommend checking it out, I agree with your point that it would be fine to skip it and jump right into Elegy.

I received my copy of Catwoman: The Game in the mail yesterday. I liked it. I wasn't a fan of Winick's writing the last time I read his work (which was when Dick Grayson was Batman I believe), but this was a fun, sexy and violent story.

I just purchased the Batman: Cataclysm TPB for a little over $25. It's in NM condition and was a great catch at a great price. I kind of wish it was the Third Edition printing with the new cover though, I can't seem to find it anywhere.

In the past month or so, I've bought both of the new Knightfall editions, the deluxe Killing Joke, Venom, Batwoman Elegy and all of the Morrison books so far except for And Son, Black Glove And Batman Must Die. I also bought and loved Court Of Owls, which has led to me following a monthly series for the first time in my life, though I'm not sure where the Night Of The Owls crossover actually ends...

Been a good while for Bat-reading at least.
