Received Batman Venom new edition, havnt read it before and it looks awesome. As well as couple a weeks ago bought and read both Batman Inc. deluxe and Birth of a Demon trilogy. Both amazing.

Read the "Batman: Death & the Maidens" trade. Wow really impressed me. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Rucka is consistently good so I shouldn't have been surprised but the description of it didn't seem that great. But man did he just blow me away with his creation of Nyssa. I just loved her. Loved seeing her stick to Ra's and see him almost helpless in dealing with her. I was sad to read that Cassandra had killed her afterwards. Would have been a good addition to the extended Bat family of characters.

Definitely picking up Elegy on FCBD, and possibly Knightfall. There's some other non-batman related stuff I want, so I might hold off on Knightfall.

Was gonna pick up Knightfall, but DC chose to use that POS newsreal paper instead of the glossy matte paper that I would have preferred.

Because of that Knightfall is worthless to me. I just kept the original two trades.

I generally lean to glossy, but glossy only works on more recent books, IMO. Take a book like Deluxe Year One, for instance. The book just doesn't seem right with glossy paper. Plus, with all the extra content (and not owning the original trades), I'd feel like I'm doing my self a disservice by not having this book on my shelf.

The Year One TPB had MUCH higher quality paper than that s**t we got for Knightfall. Much higher. I would be thrilled if they had used paper of the same quality as Batman Year One TPB.

As for the Deluxe Edition, I don't own that one.

I have the Gene Colan and Marshall Rogers collections and they both look amazing with the glossy paper. I admit it doesn't look totally natural, but I am satisfied.
