Most recently I picked up Batman and the Monster Men, and received Red Hood: The Lost Days for Christmas. I still haven't read Red Hood, I've heard it's actually pretty bad, so I'm in no rush. I did read Batman and the Monster Men, and it was actually very disappointing. A lot of the writing just felt incredibly hackneyed to me, and the dialogue often fell flat.
i tend to follow creators over specific titles so i was only picking up morrison-related bat books for awhile there, but due to much acclaim on this very forum i picked up snyder's "the black mirror" and loved it.
also, you know how it always gets awkward when someone blurts out they've never seen a movie like the godfather, or star wars? i mean, you wonder how they've gone through life without ever seeing such mandatory works of art/pop fiction? yeah. i had never read frank miller's "year one" until last weekend. thought it was superb.

I bought Black Mirror when it first came out and just read it this week. The writing and art are great but a bit too dark for me. I was shocked when I went to Amazon the other day and saw that it is sold out.
It's weird. I don't think DC anticipated the demand for the books at all, but couple the New52 and Christmas together, and both Black Mirror and the more low-key Arkham City HC have been out of stock for weeks. I can't even find a copy of Arkham City in my local bookstores and comic shops.
Picked up Tower of Babel the other day, I've read previously but I really like so on a whim I picked it up.
I kinda want to pick up black mirror in tpb but i have the issues so i think i'll wait it out a bit.
I read it a while back, it wasn't terrible but overall found it kind of forgettable. It's sequel Batman and The Mad Monk, I enjoyed a bit more.
Recently for Christmas I got Batman: Dark Victory, Batman: Snow, Gotham Central: In the Lind of Duty, The Darkness/Batman crossover.
I've been wanting to read Dark Victory since like, forever. But it was somewhat disappointing, not bad, but not great really. I've yet to read Snow, and I'm only a little bit into Gotham Central bit it's great so far. The Darkness/Batman crossover is really good for what it is, and anyone interested in crossovers I'd recommend finding a copy.
Just bought and currently reading the tpb of Matt Wagner's Trinity.

I received a copy of the new edition of Prey.
Prey is one of my favorite Batman stories and was at one time rumored to be the basis for Dark Knight Rises, but that rumor seems very unlikely.
I had the original TPB of Prey and the reason I pre-ordered this version was because my old version was very old and I figured this new edition would be a quality upgrade.
Unfortunately the opposite ended up being the case despite the fact that DC also packaged in the 5-part series Terror which I already owned also.
I hate to start to a paper rant, but here it is as respectfully as possible.
The original Prey TPB had semi-gloss matte paper, this new edition uses the newsprint paper and for those who read my comments about the Knightfall New Edition vol. 1 know that I absolutely hate the old newsprint paper. I am not going to repeat that rant here, but I am now VERY concerned that DC is going to start using this paper on a regular basis. But I should have done my research before I made the purchase and I now know better than to just blindly purchase reprints from the 80s-90s thinking that they will be an upgrade over the previous editions. This new edition has been packaged up and returned to Amazon, so its not a mistake I have to live with.
With all that in mind, should YOU buy this?
Well if you are ok with newsprint paper and have never read or experienced Prey, then BY ALL MEANS you will not be disappointed. Even if you aren't ok with newsprint paper, but still want the story I would still go ahead and recommend you check it out, because it is a great story. This story also shows how great a villain Hugo Strange can be when properly utilized.
My review of Absolute Dark Victory
If I were a MOD I would ban anyone who uses the stupid word "omniboo."
