Firefly getting canceled wasn't entirely on him. Fox mismanaged it horribly, airing episodes out of sequence. I don't think it would have done great, but it may have lasted more than one season. Still, it's a cult hit and launched several careers.

Not to mention his Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.
My point was that if you looked at his resume, it would be outlandish to think that his next project as director would be a critically acclaimed (94% on Rotten Tomatoes) record-breaking box office smash.

Well, it *is* Avengers. The name sells itself.

I wasn't really convinced by the threat of what Loki had planned in the Avengers movie. It was a good movie, don't get me wrong, and I loved it. But the Avengers were almost as much of a threat to themselves as the threat Loki presented was to them. Or, to put it another way, both Black Widow and Cap had no problem soloing those outer space guys, and therefore it wasn't that big of a threat.

But am Still sure that The Amazing Spider-man is gonna be better though.
    Agree?
Not at all. I cannot believe how unexcited I am about a Spidey movie but, even after seeing all the trailers, I am just left cold. Don't get me wrong: the POV swinging shots look amazing but the casting/tone leave me cold and the fact that we have not seen a full Lizard shot yet bodes ill as well. I think it will do well enough at the box office (it is Spidey, after all, and they clearly are aiming this one squarelyat the female teen market) but I bet both Avengers and Batman dominate this one.

After a long long break, my brother played Spawn the movie, an it still sucks, but for some reason it renewed my interest in the character, and now I'm reading his comics
3 issues into it, can't say I love it, I enjoy it to some degree

I'm just reading through my Astro City trades these days. I'm in the middle of "The Dark Age Book 1." So good.

Not being excited for a new Spider-man film...Damn. Ah well. Anywho I hope that that your low spirits will be lifted as of maybe you might like when it comes out. In the mean time though am counting my calender till July the 3rd! One thing on which I can agree with you though is the fact that while Spidey will make a lot of money in the box office, the film won't be in the same league of money making as The Avengers or The Dark Knight Rises.

Well, as I said, I will definitely go see it opening day and hope for the best. I am just not encouraged by all that we have seen so far....

I think I'll wait awhile to see the reaction because I'm not planning on seeing Spider-Man opening weekend. I took this same route with Green Lantern (and because of that, I still haven't seen GL).
