I really did not like the first two issues.
I guess that may encourage you to buy it, but then it would be jokes on you if you end up not liking it!

in all fairness after you called him "macho" you're opinions on all things Spider-man are kinda suspect in my eyes

That was heat of the moment.
But to sum up my problem with AVSM, you know that episode of every Saturday morning cartoon where they crash on an alien planet, they find the weak aliens who are ruled by a king alien, and they challenge the king to the battle of the death, one character is noble, while the other is brash and crude, and there's a "death" scene to make it seem like all hope is lost?
Stretch that over three issues, and replace other planet with underground.

I'm pretty much eying the book until Spidey teams up with a character I like.
But I just wasn't impressed by the first two issues. It had no other plots besides the main one and it was taking it's sweet ass time with a ton of splash pages.
