I meant to mention "ongoing." This is the first ongoing work he's done at Image, which means he's got all sorts of space to do whatever the hell he wants to do. If he could get a 100+ issue creator owned book, I think I might die of happiness. Not that there's anything wrong with miniseries or graphic novels, but Hickman is one writer who really knows how to handle an ongoing book. He said he's got five years of ideas for the Ultimates; who knows how deep his plan for Manhattan Projects goes.

He's got a great sense of what sort of layout works best for the story, and he clearly keeps that going through his scripts. As long as he can find awesome artists that are able to put his vision on paper, I'd prefer that. Plus, if he drew more, he wouldn't be able to write as much. I don't think I could live without his Fantastic Four and Ultimates every month.

And I suppose I'll take your silence on the matter as a sign that you've accepted the fact that DC puts as much (really, more) weight on Batman than Marvel does on any of its properties. Yet I'm still curious why (like with AvX vs Before Watchmen) you criticize Marvel for doing something that DC does no differently.

I've already told you that DC still shows more variety even with pushing on Batman. Avengers' is the top franchise at Marvel right now and the only female they're really pushing out right now is just Valkyrie for example. Luke Cage might be a leader, but he just gets his ass kicked over and over again.

I loathe that bastard as well! I can't believe they haven't put a bullet on his head yet! I mean, why would they even have him around, that monster was responsible for Sophie's death back in Riot at Xavier's and is an irremediable brat. If I were them I would have killed Quentin when he was comatose so we wouldn't be a nuisance anymore.

I also dislike that Kid Gladiator guy. I like how in the preview Beast goes: "Alien-boy-whose-name-I-do-not-remember! Please stop punching the DNA!" That was very hilarious!

Anything Shi'ar related is annoying (Phoenix too). I hope we see more of Genesis and Krakoa III, I like those two.



Who are your favorite characters, Wolverine12? Also, how did the Dark Angel Saga end? I never got to reading it and don't intend to, but I am still curious what happened to Warren.

As far as franchises? Hardly. As much as you say Marvel can be summed up with Avengers, Spider-man, X-Men and Fantastic Four, you could say the same about Batman, Superman, Justice League and Green Lantern. And in the entire American market, Batman is by far the biggest franchise that revolves around one character.

Of the DC books in the top 50 (22 books), only five are not directly related to one of those four franchises. Three of them are solo books of JL members and one is Teen Titans, which has a definite relation to JL. So depending on how picky you want to be, you could argue that only Swamp Thing stands on its own in DC's top 50 presence.

DC might have a little more variety with their lower tier books, but they still put their biggest emphasis on the big franchises. You're also ignoring a lot of variety in Marvel's lesser books. Thunderbolts, Punisher, Daredevil, Black Panther, SHIELD are all books that are, at most, loosely related to the Avengers franchise.

Black Panther gets canceled like i said, Thunderbolts is reaching cancellation numbers, SHIELD is just a limited series am i correct? I literally typed that in right after I watched it. It looks so cliche, Lizard looks like crap, the dialogue was terrible, filtered lighting, overacting, and terrible CGI.
