The first official set photograph of Daniel Craig as James Bond in "Skyfall" has been released
The first official set photograph of Daniel Craig as James Bond in the new 007 adventure "Skyfall" has been released today. The shot shows Craig sitting in a pool in his trademark blue swimming trunks.
The scene was filmed at the Four Seasons hotel in Canary Wharf, London, on 2nd December 2011. It is understood this location will be doubling for scenes in Shanghai. The pool will also feature a glitzy martini bar.

Daniel Craig was spotted in London filming outdoor foot chase scenes for the new James Bond film "Skyfall" this week...
(Pics inside)Following their shoot in Trinity Square and the Old Royal Navy College in Greenwich last week, the "Skyfall" production team returned to London again this week to shoot in Charing Cross tube station (on a Jubilee Line platform disused by the public transportation network) and also nearby above ground. Craig was seen running in costume with an ear piece. The crew lined The Mall with production trucks. This sequence is understood to feature 007 chasing Javier Bardem's character.

I wonder who is going to do the song this time. The last two songs didn't use the title in them at all (although the lyrics did sort of deal with the movie's plot), wonder if this will be the exception. I wonder if Newman, the new composer, will write it in some fashion.
Adele was reportedly up for the song, but she's had some health problems tied to her singing lately...Amy Winehouse was rumored as well until her death.

I really like how the more successful actors flank the letters of "BOND" in the field of gold while Lazenby and Dalton are relegated to the "50" on the black addendum perfect for cropping. :)
I suspect we'll be seeing a lot of that "Celebrating Five Decades of BOND" image of all 4 actors (whom the general public could name) who have played Bond over the last 50 years, complete with the Bond Fun Fact of "Did you know that James Bond has actually been played by 6 actors?" (ignoring all non-EON productions of course).
I think I read they're also gearing up for some event where they hope all the actors will appear at. Wonder if that'll actually happen. Connery reportedly won't do public appearences anymore due to his health or something like that.
Man, I do want that box set.
My favorite Bond theme is Diamonds Are Forever because they just say F-this, we are taking this so over the top that it will be absurd and awesome at the same time. I would buy this box set but they are almost always available to watch via OnDemand. Sometimes it is best not to have something you love available to access instantly. I can still recall when a Bond film airing on network TV was something of a special event.

"Diamonds" I think was largely trying to recapture Goldfinger's success-hence Guy Hamilton directing again (He would also do the first two Moores) and Shirley Bassey doing the song again.
The villain was even originally intended to be Goldfinger's brother, as well but was altered to become Blofeld.
I really hope that someday some station like HBO or Showtime acquire a contract to adapt the original Bond novels as they were written. Some of the most compelling stories ever.
Yeah, sometimes the movies kind of cherry-pick the Fleming material. For example, The novel Live and Let Die had sequences which were later used not in the movie adaptation, but instead as set-pieces in the movie versions of For Your Eyes Only (When Bond and Melina are dragged by the boat over shark-infested waters) and the scene where Felix is mauled is used in License To Kill. (Too bad we ended up with Joe Don Baker as a replacement contact for Brosnan, instead of the prosthetic-using Leiter).
There are some who suggest that since the Craig films take place in a seperate continuity they should remake the other films to be closer to the novels. Of course there was the Craig-featured Goldeneye video game, which is sort of like that.
The first official still from the set of "Skyfall" was released today...
