"Meaningful return to life?!?" Honestly, the whole Fear Itself event was just a bad event if it didn't have any last reprecussions, meaningful moments and reverse everything at the end.

I mean, this is why some tie-ins storylines are better than the actual events itself.

If this series ties into the upcoming Avengers vs X-men, then I would like for Fraction to take this seriously since most of it is his fault.

I'm glad to see Fraction likes Ulik too. He's one of my favorite characters too. He's the whole reason I started paying attention to Thor right now. I never read the book before this arc.

"She's got a lengthy and interesting backstory, but for me, the thing is keeping it simple and accessible . . . "
And I think that's why I like Gillen's "Journey Into Mystery" so much more than Fraction's "Thor."

The Surfer is wearing freaking pants. Pants he's wearing. The man is wearing pants. This is an outrage.

I wish I liked Fraction's stories half as much as he seems to. Dude seems to have a high opinion of his output despite it being full of continuity issues and unexplained plot holes.

I actually like it. It threw me off at first, but then I thought about it this way. Surfer doesn't wear clothes because he doesn't need to. He's impervious to the elements. However, what if he wore clothes because he wanted to. He's been trying to explore the wider range of human behavior and experiences lately. It only makes sense. I had the same sort of reaction when they initially gave Machine Man hair and a trench. It kinda grew on me. I'm not saying that Surfer should don a costume for battle, but I can't see why he should be allowed to mix it up other times.

    Unhappy

Fraction's run on "Thor" to date has been dreadful, though the Tanarus storyline has at least been semi-interesting- if not actually good, as some lesser used Thor rogues are getting some attention. Thankfully, there's "Journey into Mystery" which is and has been the best and most consistently entertaining monthly from Marvel since Gillen's first issue. Sadly, due to my complete run collector's nature I'll continue to buy and suffer through "The Mighty Thor."

As the Norse cycle has rebooted in the Marvel Universe post-Ragnarok, why not reinvent and rewrite things?
I'm not 100% sure that even happened. It was a relaunch, not a reboot. Also, Fraction is rewriting things we have already seen or have been referenced after the relaunch. Still doesn't explain why the continuity of the human characters have also been ballsed up.

"She's got a lengthy and interesting backstory, but for me, the thing is keeping it simple and accessible without necessarily invalidating anything that has come before," Fraction said.
Then who is writing these issues? Is Fraction sleepwalking?

Ulik may be masquerading as a hero, but he's an ass and a blowhard. He eats like a monster. There's a bit a couple issues from now where he's basically proposing to Sif and eating like a Klingon. She wants nothing to do with him; he still has those troll qualities, but there's something to the ugly troll wanting to have blonde hair, blue eyes and that kind of roman nose that Olivier [Coipel] gave Thor
Coipel's Thor is ugly. There is something wrong with his flat face! Also, Thor has his moments as an ass and a blowhard and Sif likes him. In fact when Tanarus first appeared I thought he could have been Thor's pure godly side complete with all his arrogance.

While these tales will feature plenty of the title character, Fraction will also take time to focus on several of the book's important supporting players. "In the new year, we get to see more of the love triangle between Jane Foster, Don Blake and Erik Solvang, the cosmologist, while all this stuff is going on.
You can't just bring in a stranger and expect us to give a damn, that isn't how love triangles work. How can it even be a 'love' triangle if we don't even see them dating or getting to like each other. Its just there, its unnecessary and its crap. Also, why can't Jane get a proper story and not just who she's doing? If she's not handcuffed to one loser she's handcuffed to another.

In fact, Don Blake takes center stage, next," Fraction said. "What does he mean to all of this stuff? To who Thor is?
    Is this a spoiler?

One thing: what exactly did happen to Thor's hammer at the end of Fear Itself? Captain America was carrying it around for a while, but didn't he end up giving it to Odin? At any rate, I doubt that he just threw it out into the desert and left it there, so I'm interested in seeing where the hammer comes from/how it got there.

The idea that the hammer can only be lifted by one who is "worthy" also needs an update. I think it's evident that this should be "worthy" as defined by Odin.

The recent Thor origin suggested it was only as Donald Thor could become worthy through selflessly helping others. Odin only ever seems impressed by people who do as they are told and can smack frost giants around.

Looked like it was burned on the same pyre as Thor's body.

Hes the George Lucas of comic book authors, he has these great ideas, but his execution is terrible.
