He definitely deserves it. I'm glad to see he beat Pym, Vision, and Wanda.

a propensity for defeating opponents that should be well above their pay grade.

Why do people think this? If the people T'challa defeats are above his pay grade, what does it say of Captain America? Considering the fact that T'challa is just as strong, faster, with enhanced senses, better tech, smarter, and better trained as a warrior?

I mean wtf?

If someone came up to me and said, "right this second name 10 iconic Avengers", I would probably say Iron Man, Thor, Rogers, Pym, Hulk (just bc he is a founder), Vision, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, T'challa, and Cage. Probably in that order too TBH. Next five that would pop into my head would probably be Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, and Wasp

That is hilarious. IGN stands for "I Got Nothin'!" They basically call him an overachiever. Unbelievable. They should be glad to have their butts kicked by a King.

He's physically the equivalent of Captain America but roughly as fast as Spider-Man, his intellectual genius rivals Tony Stark, Hank Pym, and Reed Richards.

T'challa's genius has also allowed him to develop several cool an unique weapons such as energy daggers, anti-metal claws, a suit which negates small arms fire, boots that allow him the cling to walls, the kimoyo card (think of an Ipad roughly 12 years before anyone knew what an Ipad was).

He is also tactical and strategic genius.

Pretty cool. I do prefer the guys with fewer powers and more skill... what about his origin story.. i tried looking this stuff up but It was all very vague and poorly explained. How'd he get his powers and was there some sort of interesting lesson or an ideal that he fights for?

He's a King. Basically. But he has become a hero, so he fights for the same things as most heroes. But his main focus is his people and Wakanda.

dr strange, luke cage, black widow, iron fist, red hulk movie….. any of those would be better...

Guardians is Awesome!!

I think they want to go with "space" and "bizarre"(ant man) with the next wave of movies.

However I do agree that they need to tap into their noir properties.

I had a very similar opinion of Rocket Raccoon, and Groot and Cosmo for that matter, but that was before I read GotG.
