A conspiracy against Black Panther?
Really?
Who are you referring to? DOn't remember anyone saying that at all.
Here's the answer: http://forums.comicbookresources.com...&postcount=178
Just because some reason has been given doesn't mean it has any validity. I'm up set that a few of my favorite characters don't get the Captain America/Wolverine treatment. Doesn't mean there are people in a back room willing "oppressing" my favorites. It's a bit out there to think that.

Not really. But ignorance is bliss.
Weren't you the one who specifically said " I don't want to read about black characters"??? You dont see the nuance there eh?
Wait youre IGNORING IT.
Your reasoning can be just as invalid too..
Your language is quite inflated. You think they have to wear KKK hoods to perpetuate this stuff eh?
You keep ignoring the question though.

Well this is a Black Panther Appreciation thread so it goes without saying that most of us focus on T'Challa as a character as opposed to other characters. (who no doubt, have their own dedicated appreciation threads.)
Most posters in this thread have posted verifiable evidence that clearly illustrates some of the ridiculous obstacles that have been placed in the way of the character and writers who've actually chosen to write T'Challa properly.
Priest spoke on this clearly and even Jonathan Maberry himself hinted at editorially mandated changes to Doomwar that led to a less than satisfactory ending to that sorry excuse for an event.
Now we have David Liss who managed to work gold nuggets out of the crap premise he was handed only to have the proverbial rug yanked from beneath him just as he's focused T'Challa upon Wakanda again.
I see no evidence of paranoia on the part of BP fans but I do find the pseudo psychology utilized by some to diminish the observations of the aforementioned BP enthusiasts quite revealing.
What I personally don't understand is why people who don't particularly appreciate T'Challa as a character keep wasting their time coming into a dedicated appreciation thread for the aforementioned character?![]()

Awww! YoU caught my logic slug. Did it hurt your brain?
Because it's such an outrageous claim. The scale of what is being said doesn't match the grandeur of the item it's apparently being applied too. Black Panther simply doesn't warrant this conspiracy you guys in here are talking about. Plus there are other characters that have the same history in comics as Black Panther that are being given far less chances than Black Panther. Silver Surfer comes to mind. He was rumored for a movie, he's not in video games, he's had a few ongoings, not he's being shoe-horned into other books like Thor and Defenders. What you are talking about just simply is too outrageous to be true given the character.
This is non of my concern but I did want to say..... if you are on the constant look out for unfair treatment, negativity, and hate then more then likely you will find it. Often.
Sometimes a duck is just a duck. *throws 2 cents*
Just so I won't be accused, I actually like BP to an extant. I wish somethings about the character were different so I could be more motivated to follow the character regularly but I still like him. Pretty sure I'm not a big fan of of some of the characters fans on CBR though. But that is a horse of another color.

I feel the same way about Jean Grey. She's being kept out of the books despite many writers wanting to write her. The editorially mandates seem to be the norm across ALL books, not just Black Panther. How many writers out there can say they've never had a book changed to altered because of editors? I don't see what makes the Black Panther examples any different.
I'm also not saying you have no right to complain about the short comings to the character, but it claim that it's a conspiracy against you and you alone is just not right.
Also maybe I do appreciate the character, I just find it hard to converse about him here with the fans. On my secret forum we regularly talk about T'Challa and the book.
