Sadly, this event actually prompted me to drop the series in monthly form.
I'd already been on the fence, for various reasons, and a combination of elements here was enough to tip me over the edge. First of all, it's guest-starring a bunch of characters I'm not all that fond of, and whose series I don't even follow. Second, the decision to drop all of the issues in the same month played havoc on a fairly tight budget. So I guess I'll see what people say, and maybe pick up the inevitable collected edition someday.
Kind of a shame, but Venom was always going to be a tough sell for me, and only the combination of writer and premise kept me this long. Though I may find I miss crazyWTF Jack-o-Lantern. We'll see.
I'm curious to see how it turns out. I want Venom to retain his uniqueness, not just become some guy that's always teaming up with other people; that's what stalled the creative progress of the first series. Still, I'm not too worried since the first few story arcs have been great.
Empty winds scrape on the soul never stop to realize/Animal whisperings intoxicate the night
Hypnotize the desperate slow motionlight/Wash away into the rain
Blood, milk and sky....
Even Venom needs pals.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!
If nihilism didn't take some delight in destruction one might suspect nihilists were an unnaturally morbid sort.

I really hope those .1 issues aren't a necessity. I've been enjoying Venom thus far and would be kind of upset if I had to buy some ancillary bullshit to go with it.
I was going to read this, as I do all of Remender's Venom, but I wasn't really invested in this mini-event. However, the return of Kid Blackheart pleases me and now I am looking forward to it. It's the little things.
This book is good, not great.
The stakes for the whole Crime Master/blackmail thing don't work for me.
Pretty sure Flash could get some help with that (although if you want to play up the "hard-headed jock" angle some more then I see where it could work).
Ultimately, I suspect many are hanging in for the other shoe to drop and Brock gets the symbiote again.
I'm pretty sure this Blackheart is not the same as the spikey guy... despite what Remender says...

If Remender put out 20 Venom books a month I would buy every one of them.
I'd hafta sell my kids and whore out my wife, but sometimes small sacrifices need to be made.
