It was a dumb draft pick. The Browns needed WR help more than drafting an old QB. When the pick blows up in their faces they will have themselves to blame.

Detroit takes Kellen Moore as an undrafted freebie, and Case Keenum's receiver as well I heard. Interesting.
Well considering Seau its claimed for months suffered from depression and told those around him how depressed it was...it fits the 2-3 other former players who recently have killed themselves due to it. Seau's death will bring more attention to former players who are suffering mentally and have issues with depression who have ended their lives in recent years. Maybe his passing will finally get the NFL to establish a program of some kind for those who are battling depression issues now. RIP Junior Seau .

That and whatever brain issues they suffer from. Concussions and all play a part as well. Many are suffering as we have heard and those who have get depression and take their own lives.

Further more... for some players, it's all they've done in life. They basically have no experience with other occupations, and some may have gone to college just for the sake of a professional career. When you basically have to leave it, you don't know what you're going to be able to do.

Apparently a San Diego PD officer contacted Dan Patrick over Twitter with his opinion that Seau shooting himself in the chest may be, in part, a suicide with post-mortem interest. Similar to how former Chicago Bear Dave Duerson killed himself in this fashion, and left a note specifying he wanted his brain to be studied for post-concussion syndrome.

Unless I missed something how is the QB old, and we'll agree to disagree.
    ALready saying he's a bust? I'll say that's a bunch of crap.

Brandon Weeden, the oldest first round draft pick in NFL history, at 28 years...
...which makes him 2-3 years older than McCoy, for example. 28 isn't old in the world of computer programming, but it *is* kind of up there for a rookie QB.

And I don't think anyone is calling him a bust, just that McCoy was and is on the same level, and McCoy's problem isn't execution. Hell, the Cleveland fans like him just fine. His problem is on the other end of the football's trajectory, and drafting a 28 year old QB does nothing to address that problem. In fact, if Weedon isn't appreciably better than McCoy, he will have the exact same problem that McCoy did: poor play calling and poor receiver execution.

So he's older than what QBs usually are when they get drafted in the nFL but it's not like he's in the same place that Farve was in his last 2 years of his NFL Career.
When the pick blows up in their face that statement.
That's a statement that sounds like another way of saying he'll be a bust.

He couldn't score vs a Struggling Steelers team.

Its hard to beat teams when your WR core lead the league in dropped passes. I have seen McCoy play. If they had drafted him help , he could actually win. When your team leads the league in dropped passes your in trouble.

And, of course, ignoring the last two sentences of my post misses the point completely.

The sad weird case of the 1994 Chargers and how 7 members of the team have died (8 if ya count the Cheerleader) the past 17 years.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/79...uper-bowl-team

Its really errie in a sense and reminds me of the Wrestlemania VI (I believe that is the WM) where its said that nearly half the people who competed in that Wrestlemania have died the past 20 years after it.

Not denying they have a dropped pass problem but who was the best team the Browns beat last year?

Likely the Miami Dolphins. Of course if you look at 5 of the losses to the Ravens , Bengals and Steelers ...they were in those games and close. Imagine if they had WR help for McCoy there. They lost to the Cardinals in OT in another game. So its not like QB was the real problem. But they ignored a real issue and decided to create a QB controversy to not fix an area they should have.

The Prosecutor in the Ryan Leaf case basically admitted Leaf has painkiller addiction issues and worked out a deal where Leaf will be court mandated to receive treatment for 9 months and then be restricted after his release there . The prosecutor has said that he agrees Leaf needs help more than being locked away.
