Ok, so I couldn't resist and picked up Captain Victory #3. This was another EXCELLENT issue. I love how each issue thus far has told the story through a different crew member. And the use of flashbacks is highly effective again in adding to both the current plot and the overall background of the characters. The art is also greatly improved here with the new artist, Steve Scott. I hope he is a long term addition. This has become one of my favorite books on the market right now.

Just bought Silver Star #3 digitally and I'm pretty sure it was missing pages. It went straight from the scene where Morgan turns into an ape in the astral plane to him talking to the cat woman...that can't be right. Can someone who read the floppy fill me in?

Damn, I wish I was home to check on that for you but I'm stuck at work :(

I can check tonight though, if nobody else has the chance.

    So I'm wondering....

Is Silver Star really.....dead? I'm personally thinking that he's not dead and the next issue or so will be written as if he is but there will be an explination as to where he is and why he was away.

Any which way, issue #3 for Silver Star was AWESOME and I'm loving this new universe!

I dont think hes dead manga4life, I think hes most likely really injured or he is taking time away from the center stage to set up a future story line between him and Norma. Hes very much alive, hence the book not changing names and he has to be around since hes a major selling point of this whole lineup of books. Or at least I think so. Lemmmmme tell ya, I love the Kirby launch through Dynamite Comics, I think its been better than Project: Superpowers, maybe the characters are not as bright and shiney but the story sure had been and the 3 spinoff books are all phenomenal.

That's kind of what I'm thinking with Silver Star not being truly "dead", but he may be in an alternate universe or maybe severely injured from the bomb. Either which way, he's not dead. I think they're just trying to enhance the girl and eventually Morgan will come back and reunite with her, either that or he is possibly faking his death for some strange reason.

I think one of the solicits mentioned a Silver Star from one of the "Earths" Morgan and Norma created...or maybe it was Darius Drumm...either way, that is where I see this going.

By the by, I contacted Comixology and they are looking into the missing pages issue. In the meantime, someone want to fill me in on what happened between Morgan waking up and the island getting attacked?

Was I the only one who didn't like the guest artist in issue #3 of Captain Victory? I don't know what it was but the art was just downright ugly to me, good thing the story was fun and helped to make up for the bad art. Either which way, I hope the guy who did the first two issues comes back for issue #4 and beyond or I hope someone good is placed on future issues, maybe even the guy doing Genesis...

I liked the change, though some of the characters were drawn in a Masters of the Universe over-muscled style.

The guy doing Genesis should definitely end up on this or SS. He is pretty damn good.

Yeah, I think his name is Jack Hebert (or Hubert), I don't have the comics in front of me so I'm not 100% sure of his last name but he does like 80% of Genesis' artwork and Ross adds in some painted pages. Its odd, but cool, that two artists are sharing the spotlight on a single title adding in two different styles of art, I'm not sure I remember another book that actually had done this in the past.

Any which way, I would love to see Jack on Silver Star or Captain Victory, more so Captain Victory due to my liking SS's art a tad more than CV.

    Default They are great!

Really enjoying the whole bunch. My store is late with Captain Victory 3 and silver Star 3. I also have yet to see Dragonsbane 2....they keep telling me they are shipping late....is that true?

Just a thought? Do you guys think Destroyer Duck is going to show up? Or has he already and I missed it?
If the shoe fits: "a crankly old man standing just on the edge of a crowd gathered for a concert and stamping his feet yelling at the crowd to stop having fun, that they don't know what fun is."

I haven't seen Destroyer Duck yet, but I think I remember somewhere that Ross or Kurt said that he could always pop up. As for the titles shipping late, yes, Kirby Genesis #5 was late by about a month and Dragonsbane #2 is late by a couple weeks, to the best of my knowledge Silver Star and Captain Victory have been pretty much right on schedule.

Genesis is back on schedule, supposedly, and CV and SS have been regular. Dragonsbane is late.

Also, Busiek said no to Destroyer Duck, but yes to another character called Dynamite Duck, I think. Must be some ownership issue, so they used another Kirby design. He appears on the big splash page at the end of Genesis #0.

There were a few artists that did Black Terror, in the books 15 issues or whatever it was 3 different artists penciled the book and yes, I think he was one of them.

Also, you're not missing any pages in SS #3, he goes straight from ape to the table where's he's laying down and is greeted by the woman. Definitely weird, but it still kinda flows.
