The Torch is an awesome character! I really enjoyed his recent mini that came out not to long ago. I wish he would have caught on. The MU could use more heroes like him!

LOVE me some Jim Hammond! He has a great back story and The Marvels Project really cast him in a great light with regards to the modern Marvel U. Unfortunately Editorial wants to bring back every old character all at once and can't find a place for any of them in continuity. We have ALL of the Invaders alive and well and with all they've been through in the past you don't think they'd like to grab a beer together? Booooo!

This is where I first discovered him. Until then I thought Johnny was the first guy to have the name. Did anyone else first find out about Jim through West Coast?

I've barely read anything about this guy outside the few mentions in Bru's Captain America, but i've gotten very intriqued by this character since he's going to be in the Secret Avengers. =)

My first exposure to the Original Human Torch was through a Sub-Mariner issue, of course.

Sub-Mariner #14. The kicker though, is at the end we learn it's actually not Jim Hammond, but a mind altered Toro! Great story!

They did bring have the Invaders meet up in the present for an adventure, in Invaders Now!

That series was another reason I really love Marvel. They don't hide from their history instead they embrace it and bring new life to it.
