Pretty cool chapter, for a clip show chapter that is.

I like how Naruto decided to handle the situation, it was pretty clever, and I absolutely love how he just flat out ignored Tobi's threats.

Oh joy, meaningless flashbacks. That aside, I like that Naruto actually came up with a plan to get the rod out. Wasn't expecting that. Hopefully the action and plot will get back in gear now.

Nah. Bansho Te'nin allows you to target specific stuff. So he could've pulled in Naruto withou risk of dragging the spike with him.

Assuming that Naruto could actually hold onto the spike while being pulled away from it, then maybe.

Fine. Shinra Tensei him *towards* the spike, driving it in further, then Bansho Ten'in him away while he's stunned from being buried in Goku Cleavage.

But would he have a good enough grip to hold on to that small spike while suddenly being pulled back, something I bet he wasn't prepared for at that moment.

Couldn't Tobi have just used both, pulling at Naruto while pushing the rod? or just do everyone's favorite and lock him in a mini moon.

I am going to say that Tobi probably can't use the Rinnegan's powers right now. Kakashi was probably right when he said just controlling all the hosts and beasts at once is already too much. I mean we saw the five tails snapping and trying attacking Tobi. He likely needs to focus only on the chains right now unless he wants to risk one of the beasts getting free.

We know this is why the beasts themselves haven't received a particular Path power to use, but I was under the impression that the central, real body (Tobi) would be able to.

Still, one of my other theories is that even if he had no paths to control, he doesn't have the chakra preserves to spam their techniques like Nagato could, so it's possible that it's too much of a strain for him to use them unless absolutely necessary.

And really, this chapter was disappointing, especially after the break. A bunch of filler with maybe three pages of actual content.

Really, I'm wondering if he drew alot of the flashbacks, or just had someone go cut out scenes from his previous work and paste them together.

I'll admit, I like how he drew the last page, but still.

It's going to be an awesome moment in the anime though, provided Naruto does something spectacular at the next chapter, this is exactly the set-up that Part I thrived on.

I could hear the music as I was reading it.
