I read a few of the back-up stories but couldn't get into it from only reading 1-2 pages or whatever it was per month. But, the premise sounds cool and I'll be picking up at least #0 [it'll be better reading an entire issue at once] and 1 to try it out.

You're right--those short bursts of pages makes it tough to really dig into the story. When Steve and I knew we'd be doing more Hoax Hunters, we decided it would be best to start off with collecting all those backup pages, either for people who never read it, or didn't get into it right away (or just wanted the whole thing collected). That way, everyone starts off at the same point.

Yeah, the cover is pretty great, I agree. It was done by Steve Seeley, Hoax Hunters co-creator, who is also a gallery artist. He does a lot of weird, unusual art involving nature and pop culture references.
