You could try Marvel's Digital Comics Unlimited service which has all the Ultimate Spider-Man issues I believe.

I really should but I don't think I have enough.

All of my previous issues are TPB's and are falling apart.

I have 11, and soon to be 12, over-sized hardcovers. I have no need to get the same books in the same over-sized format.

That said, I am a huge fan of the omnibus format, and would definitely get it if I didn't already have these hardcovers. Ultimate Spider-man is a great title and deserves Marvel's best format.

    Default amazing series

I would buy one big slip cover set if it had everything up until the death of spiderman and all the side stories. I loved pretty much everything in the ultimate universe and I will read it again once I catch up on other stuff.

Well the thing is I don't want a digital version of the books, rather a physical copy. I knew this wasn't going to be simple task.

So that means either I wait for more omnibus releases or would it be better to buy either the trade paperback/hardcover volumes?

I have the first two ohc, and found the Venom arc up to issue 50 or so decent/fairly week (when I dropped it), so I'm passing and am happy with what I've got.

From what I have looked up there seems to be a little to much variety of these comics and it is rather irritating to try and get back into it. Hopefully this won't be as expensive as I think it might be.
The cost of buying the first six single-arc trades (the contents of the book) on Amazon is 75 bucks. The cost of buying the first three Ultimate collections (again, same contents as the omni) is 56 bucks, but the first Ultimate collection is going out of print. The omnibus will cost 62 bucks on Amazon. The oversized hardcovers aren't readily available outside of

IMO I think its a great deal. Not only do you get the first six story arcs but you get them in a nice hardcover volume which will presumably have lots of bonuses features and an all around superior presentation. The downside is you don't know when the next volume will be. It could be six months after the first one comes out or it could be two years later when the next Spidey movie comes out. But theres no word on when the fourth Ultimate Collection comes out either.

In the end I think you should buy the regular trades if you want to read all of the story right away, but if you want to own the series in a nicer package go for the omnibus.

Its six months away, more than enough time to save your pennies for it!

i'll most likely buy this one.

I've been waiting for this for a while now, only thing i'm worried about is that it'll probs be 4 omnibuses and god knows when they finish releasing them.

it's either this or the over sized ultimate versions, but i reckon this will be more bang for the buck in the long term.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm just getting back into the hobby, and I'm debating whether or not I want to get this book. I used to have the first few oversized hardcovers, but I got rid of them. :( The only way I would think this omnibus would be worth it is if it contains AT LEAST the bonuses that the oversized HCs had. I loved how those books were set up. Does the size of an omnibus take away from the readability of book? Between me and my son (and hopefully in a few years my younger son, too), I expect this book to be thumbed through quite a bit. Do the omnibusses (omnibi?) physically hold up to multiple readings, or are they made more for looking good on a bookshelf?

I'm going to get it because I haven't read ultimate spiderman yet. After that though I'll probably not be able to wait for the other omnibuses to come out and go with the OHCs

I'm new to this, so this might be a dumb question, but do they ever put out a book this length in softcover, or will this be hardcover no matter how long i wait?

I hear that this comeing out in June (for the UK at least). Can anyone confirm this? That omnibus looks too sweet to pass up.

My advice to anyone is that if you want this book, get it as soon as you can. Because these omnibus hardcover prices start mildly reasonable and then suddenly sky-rocket in price for a lot of money.

Amazon preorder has it coming out June 20th I believe. And no, omnibusess don't get released softcover. They are very big and need the extra support.

Omnibuses are usually stocked with bonus features. Not to the extent of DC's Absolute editions but theres usually quite a bit. The book collects the first three HCs, which had a total pagecount of 992. Minus the extra titles pages the story length is the same, so this should have the bonuses from the HCs plus some more. I know the first HC had 40 pages of bonus content so there should be a ton in this book.

And the omnibuses are sewn, so they have a good strong binding. Remember, these books are meant to be archival copies, they're built to last. However, the size means that they aren't really a book to read while holding. Its something you'll want to lay down on something, either a desk, tray, table or in bed. This book is solicited to be 1000 pages so it'll be a big one, probably around 7 pounds. The book is designed to lay perfectly flat and the pages are big enough that if you want to read it with your sons you can lay it out read it together.
