"Dark Knight Rises" star Christian Bale was shoved then chased by Chinese authorities on Thursday when he attempted to visit blind Chinese civil rights leader Chen Guangcheng in his home village.

I mentioned this headline to my wife last night, astonished and intrigued she asked for details. I told her I hadn't read them because I knew I would be underwhelmed and I was.

I was kind of hoping the guy had robbed a bank of narrowly missed destroying communism single handedly. While the story is actually quite interesting on its own merits, "Batman Chased Down By Chinese Authorities, Gets Away" seems to warrant something much more dramatic.
