So many cool international characters. I really think Marvel should have a book to showcase them.

Top 3: Batman, Wonder Woman, X-force
One thing the MU has a whole lot of are gods, and in this universe, gods like to join super-teams for some reason. Or at least Thor, Hercules, Perun (Russian), and Anitun (Filipino) do. I wonder if any other gods are so patriotic to the people that worship them? Indra's shown up a couple times, why not him on a team for India? Or go more obscure, say, a New Zealand team featuring Tangaroa (who does exist in the MU; check the Encyclopedia Mythologica)?
Of the four you mention, only Perun and Anitun are fighting for the countries of their ancient worshippers (not the people who worship them, as I don't believe the Russians or Filipinos still worship them for the most part). And in Hercules and Perun's cases at least, it's probably got more to do with being given an excuse for a good fight than feelings of patriotism. Which isn't to say it's a bad idea that more gods might well act as superheroes, just a clarification as to their motives, and why it's not such a bizarre thing - any excuse for a punch-up!
I'd love it if these characters became canon. There is so much potential for international super groups, but writers never seem to want to tap into it.
I would especially love to see stories with the Turkish and Panamanian captains. Maybe the Turkish captain could fight the evil Spider-Man from the 3 Dev Adam movie.
And I'd love a story about Captain Panama fighting this guy

And bring back Captain Lichtenstein!!!!
You also have China's Eight Immortals and Russia's Power Corp who was mentioned in the Winter Guard limited series but never see.

I'd just like everyone to know that not only am I dropping Marvel, I'm dropping this forum considering I'm not even allowed to voice a negative opinion because a thread "isn't about me".
Fred Van Lente had a cool idea for an international team of heroes called: The Commonwealth of Heroes, that was supposed to have been around for awhile, but in the background. He said this in interviews:
We learn that Alpha flight’s actually a member of a super, super team called The Commonwealth of Heroes. I’m very excited about writing those characters — I love them a lot and it’s going to be a good time.Of course, with AF's cancellation, this idea probably won't see the light of day.Captain Britain and MI-13 will play a role in this series. There's a little organization that's existed for years in the Marvel Universe, but no one has really paid that much attention to it. It's called the Commonwealth Heroes. We're going to be introducing them in future issues of "Alpha Flight." We'll see how Alpha Flight reacts to being a member of a "super" superteam formed from the superhero teams of all these different countries, and the insanity will get ratcheted up even further.![]()
Our hopes are high. Our faith in the people is great. Our courage is strong. And our dreams for this beautiful country will never die.

There are four stages of matter. Solid. Liquid. Gas & Don't. It's science.
I am a male. Deal with it.
Exactly. In fact a view of almost ANY other non-US Country. Even when Iron Man went to Paris we never saw their native Heroes 'Les Heroes de Paris' show up. Where were thay?
The bottom line is, and Fraction is a prime example, that several of Marvel's architects just don't seem to know or that there *is* a wider Marvel Universe. They may just not be aware. Everything is US if not New York-centric. It's all very insular. It shouldn't be.
I mean I can understand not using these kind of characters in monthly books, but they are perfect for establishing the scale of a world wide threat in a Summer Event.
The thing is... are they truly evil? I mean these are how Excalibur turned out in world where the Nazis won WW2. Does that make them wholly evil, or comparative good guys in an evil world?
It won't now, no. Great shame. And with Rick Remender splitting Captain Britain (And seemingly Meggan too) from MI13 is pretty disappointing. Not as disappointing as his Captain Britain characterisation as a whole, so far, mind.

IMO, the only recent MU Event that did not need to show global was Civil War.
