    New chapter is out.

    The match begins quietly.

    My bad feeling remains.

Hmm, I remember back when Ricardo Martinez fought Date Eiji. Martinez was shocked that Eiji could withstand so many of his powerful punches, and concluded that Eiji must have faced someone in Japan who hit as hard as he did. This was a reference to Ippo's title match against Eiji.

I wonder if Ippo's punches are going to be absorbed by Ricardo in a similar way, since Ricardo has fought two matches against Martinez and has perhaps learned to endure the power of the world champion's blows better than most.

I think this is going to get pretty ugly. Ippo isn't going to win, for my money at least, but both of them are going to be totally wrecked by this fight.

First episode of the new anime starts out with this really heart wrenching look back at how Ippo and his mom coped with the death of his father.

Then it jumps straight to the Shimabukurou match, skipping pretty much all the build up that was in the manga. It's nice to jump straight to the action but it does create a bit of odd pacing IMO.

Yeah, that didn't go as planned.

I do love how casually Alfredo just knocks down Ippo's punch.

That was a really well-drawn and badass exchange.

New chapter out yesterday. it looks like alfredo is another caged beast waiting for "freedom." he's going to start unleashing some vicious two handed combos, like the ones that shattered date's bones. that being said, once it turns into a battle of endurance, pain threshold, and stamina, ippo will probably pull through.

    new chapter out.

its the end of round one and even though ippo lost the round, he's got alfredo worried a bit.

Yeah. Ippo is doing really well right now.

I'm guessing that Alfredo has something up his sleeve simply because there's gotta be more to him than this.

Loved the exchange between Genji and Ippo. Those two are fired up and ready to go.

Hmm I thought Alfredo was going to come in with a left hook when ippo shifted to the side. That right was pathetic. I thought for sure when he first threw his right ippo was going to get crushed and possibly have his first down since becoming the Japanese champ. I thought it'd be a chopping right with perfect timing. Not a straight right with bad timing and no power. If that's all that right has this fight is over. Ippo has been destroying fredo's right arm, there's no way he can even throw a full power right. But then again he can hit ippo at will and he isn't being aggressive. Fredo could launch an offensive assault of left hooks/straights/uppers and right smashes/uppers/hooks/straights/etc.
