    More new chapters!

This is more like it! Freaking intense battle of boxing wits right here!

    Even David Eagle is impressed.

    Also:

Sendo: This smart-guy kind of boxing is boring. See even the crowd is bored silent. Our style of just bashing eachothers' brains in is much better. Yeah.

Ippo: Dude... you know that's bull...

    Sendo: Shut up!

    Never change Sendo.

    That does help, doesn't it.

Doubtful. They're in different weight-classes and I think that they'll both stay there for the rest of the series. Though I would like to see a Sendo/Vorg rematch with Sendo moving up a weight-class. Make up for that controversial last fight they had.

Then tension keeps piling up and I love it!

I'm also scared of seeing a repeat of Aoki and Kimura's fate.

Oh the fate of those without plot armor.

I figure a worst case scenario is that Vorg ends up like Saeki-- I mean Eagle just praised Vorg's fighting ability. Mike even declared that this was his favorite sort of fight (the high-powered chess match). we didn't see any comparable build-up for Aoki or Kimura during their fights. you could almost feel their inevitable doom before the fights were even half-way over!

additionally, neither Mike or Vorg has any plot-armor, lol. Saeki got written out of the story with a tiny modicum of grace... I figure Vorg, if he gets written out, will get quite a bit more.

    New chapter out.

The boxing chess game continues with a dash of quick thinking and fast reflexes on Vorg's end. This match is just so good.

I wonder how Mike would stack up against Ricardo Martinez.

    This.

    This will be interesting.

But Mike, man. If you really wanted to have this epic boxing chess-match against Vorg you could've given him time to prepare properly and then you would've gotten what you have now and more.

Vorg is disappointing me. He has been touted so long as being versatile, a natural outboxer and good enough to defeat Date. Then he starts out his biggest fight by charging like an idiot and repeating the same technique over and over until it's completely destroyed.

Now he has recovered some of his cred, but at this point Mike is turning out to be the more interesting guy.

The charge was an attempt to finish it quickly since he hasn't been allowed to prepare like he normally would and thus won't win in stamina, as was pointed out in the latest chapter. And I think that it's natural to keep using his biggest weapon in situations where most normal fighters wouldn't be able to handle it, you try breaking out of a habit of finishing off opponents with something like that.

Mike is obviously as skilled as Vorg but he also kind of an ass if you ask me. If he wasn't he'd have let Vorg get the regular training period before the match instead of rushing it while Mike's done a detailed analysis of Vorg's style.

    New chapter is out.

Vorg goes in for an in-fighting gamble. I'm thinking that this fight will end with this round.

    Next chapter is number 1000.

    COME ON VORG!

You can do it my son! Smack that dude in the liver!

Also, I totally misread the artwork in the last chapter. Vorg did not switch up his stance.

    new issue

Mike doesn't seem to quite as much of a jerk here-- because he gets shown in a flashback as being anxious to fight Volg in his best fighting condition. of course, the manager had other ideas...

even if Volg loses, he turned enough heads in the US where he might get another chance to fight. actually, given that Eagle, Mike, and Mike's manager are all impressed-- I'd say it's almost guaranteed that he'll fight again.

Come on Vorg! You can still do this!

Soul of the fucking samurai to the max!

And yes, seems like Mike is less of a jerk than I thought. The manager kind of sucks though, where's the confidence in your world champion boxer man?
