so uhhh anyone wonder how some of your fav real life boxers would come off in HNI?

like since Tak moved up from the welterweights to middleweights I'd wonder how Sergio Martinez would be portrayed against Takamura

Aoki has about as much chance of winning this as Ippo had at realistically beating Woli.

But that would be a real downer to be honest.

    And that was just painful.

    That... that was sad.

And really well-written. This is the kind of human drama I love the series for.

I wonder who it was that Takamura was refering to.

    Personally, I'm hoping it's Mashiba.

    Survival of the fittest, yo.

Though it's possible that it could be Kimura, since he's naturally a Lightweight without weight controll, if things are so dire as to make Aoki retire.

Lets just hope to God ippo isnt going to move up and take yet another detour. Unless its going to be done in super fast speed and its another one punch knockout, which would ultimately help him master his "hit before being hit," style. Which raises the question, do you think ippo could or will ever be able to speed blitz, an itagaki or ricardo? He will never have their quickness, but with his straight line speed and rib cracking power, he could take control of the whole fight in the first second. It seems to me like the next progression, at first he would always get up, then he wouldn't fall down, and next he hits you first so he never has to take someones full strength.

on an unrelated matter, is anyone else in love with the "weight of your fist" motif? I use it to talk about all sports. Like the weight of tiger woods club or Kobe's ball.

I'm going with Kimura as well, for the reason that Takamura said that "the idea was too stupid to think of at the time."

    Hmm.

I actually wouldn't mind if Aoki and Kimura retired at this point. It'd be sad to be sure but it would be a fairly realistic take on the situation and it could be used to tell a story about moving on.

I want Kimura to destroy that Iga prick and then retire. The idea of Aoki and Kimura carrying on that this juncture would just seem super contrived.

Or failing that, Kimura tries and loses and so retires. Mashiba gets hellah mad because Kimura losing makes him look bad and drags Iga into HELL!

The first one. Definitely the first one.

They need to win in some way after all this time.

Well, after unlocking Ricardo Martinez in the Victorious Boxers 2 game, I decided to test how well he fights under a strong CPU against other boxers in the same settings...And my god, Martinez is a monster.

I even set him against Byran Hawk and Martinez knocked the guy on his ass several times without being knocked down himself...WTF is he, a Terminator?! O_o

    New chapter out.

We get to hear Kimura and Aoki's decisions about their careers' and... ehm... they give us another reason to call them Aokimura.

I like this chapter it had some good light-hearted elements after the previous chapter's sad realism along with some really nice quiet moments.

I especially liked Takamura's new song and Tomiko leaping out a window to save her man.

new chapter-- at least Saeki isn't wallowing in defeat-- and Itagaki continues to be annoying... although he's not half as annoying as his family.
