Default Why Do Superman and Even Spider-Man's Costumes In Reboot Films Look Dirty/Amateur?

Has anyone else noticed this? They looked like they were pulled out of a dumpster, and put on the actors. The designs are incredibly amateur as well. Are they going for some sort of realistic approach to the characters a la Nolan?

    LOL

And yes, they are going with the "real approach". Supermans costume doesnt exactly dirty though. Not much of Spidermans. I think "Realistic" = dark colors, apparently.

Or they just want that uber "dark and gritty" effect thats so old and played out. I remember when being happy used to be cool.

Don't worry, those costumes will eventually change. They always do...

Well, yeah. But in both Superman and Spider-Man's cases, they didn't have the money and resources that Bruce Wayne had at his disposal. Hell, Ma and Pa Kent made Superman's costume......

So far, they never have: the first series Spider-Man movie costumes were all the same, and it was also less 'colorful' than the comics costume. Same with Routh's suit in Superman Returns. Both were exactly what we saw in the previews and stills.

color is muted and texture is changed (pitted?) to make it look more liek "armor" than just fabric. Not that they need armor....

I think there were a few small changes to the Spider-Man costume in the trilogy (Apart from the obvious black costume change of course!).

I really don't know where the 'dirty' and 'amateur' stuff is coming from. The colors are darker and more muted, but they don't look like they need to be put in the wash ASAP and certainly not like they came from a dump. They're different from what we're used to, but that's no biggie. I really think this is an overreaction.

I just want to know why Spider-man's crotch is black.
Its like the dude spends all day adjusting his berries.

The only problem I had with the Superman costume is that it looked dull, color-wise. But I'm betting they will use some CGi to brighten it up. Zack Snyder is best known for having a visual style that's very crisp and striking, so the last thing to be worried about is the Superman film being dull or gritty.

I wouldn't really say Snyder's movies are striking. Crisp? Sure, but they've also all got very dull muted colors, while still having an overly fake glossy shine, or at least they have since he's been doing 300.

The new Superman costume looks like shit
