Default Fantastic Four & FF (News And Speculation)

Hickman is bringing all his plots together now and everything is shaping up nicely. Johnny's return was told in a very good manner and he seems changed a little from his ordeal which is good. I like that Hickman has had Johnny "grow up" some. We see it in flashes with other writers but I think Hickman has made it stick.

I hope he can make both Fantastic Four and FF viable titles. Maybe he has Reed spend more time with the Future Foundation and have the Fantastic Four consist of Sue, Ben, Johnny and Spidey(he does have a brain and it would be cool to see him use it more here). I guess we'll have to see how it plays out. I also like what he's done with the Inhumans and I hope they stick around and keep their new status.

I like that Hickman is having a reunion of sorts of a lot of neglected supporting characters during his run. He's made Nathaniel Richards a more formidable character by featuring him in his Fantastic Four and SHIELD. I was really glad to see him bring back Kristoff, something I had the good luck to discuss with him when I got to talk to him for a bit at the first C2 E2 in 2010. We are also supposed to be seeing the return of Wyatt Wingfoot at one point, a character that has just about dropped off the map since Byrne had him dating She Hulk during his FF run.

Wyatt Wingfoot, Willie Lumpkin, these are characters I mentioned for an iFanboy podcast way back and Hickman said Lumpkin will return following Franklin's birthday. We have yet to know who the "top-secret" members of the Future Foundation are, unless they're a secret to the readers as well. I wonder if Thundra will show up given that she, Lumpkin, the Impossible Man, and H.E.R.B.I.E are on that anniversary cover for FF #12, and the latter three have already appeared in Hickman's run. If Scott Lang is truly back from the dead, the other former FF members and supporting characters who are not committed to other teams ought to be back as well (Namorita, Sharon Ventura, even Frances Hyatt/Frankie Raye and Agatha Harkness and dare I say it, the reformed Salem Seven).

I half want to see what Hickam does with the two FFs, but I also want him to save the Avengers.

    Decisions, decisions.

And yes, I'm aware some think Avengers doesn't need saving.

Well Hickman is doing GREAT with the Ultimates, so even if they don't need "saving", I bet he could make them better.

I like the choices of Ms Marvel and Namorita. I thought N was dead though. Can you update me on that. I always liked Agatha too, and she would make a good teacher for some of the kids, especially Franklin, as Witchcraft is about mastering your will power. I wonder if Franklin will be a big part of the "It's Coming" story line?

Financially yeah no saving. New Number Ones due to the movie or the end of Aveners vs X-men should boost those. creative wise is a debate.

I'd love to see Ms. Marvel in some capacity with the Future Foundation...hell, we have too many Avengers teams as it is. I feel it makes the whole concept of a super team less special. Bring one or two other Avengers over to the Future Foundation.

I don't see too many Avenger Teams but I could use a dedicated Cosmic Team focused on protecting Earth.

I dropped FF. That smart ass girl Valeria and the arrogant (I always win cuz i'm the smartest of all) Reed Richard got on my nerves so i quit buying them with the end of the Fantastic Four-run. I have the series complete from 1998 onwards.

I love Hickman (I adore his Secret Warriors, can't wait for tpb part 6 to come out! and looking forward to the S.H.I.E.L.D-miniseries i have in wait for me) but i lost track of the story around #578 aswell.

I'm tempted to buy FF / Fantastic Four in Trade though.....

I agree with you both. It's good to see that Hickman will bring back some of the old supporting cast and villains. He's also going to have Black Panther make an appearance as well. And a revamped Salem's Seven would be a welcome return.

What about an all new Frightful Four? They haven't been around for ages unless I missed something. I'd like to see totally new members or maybe bring back the Trapster as the leader of an all new group. I'd like to think he's gotten smarter and become a better strategist over the years.

I think it would be more interesting for Bentley to create a new Frightful Four...
