Sadly, I'm just not interested in the current Firestorm dynamic. I really dug the heroism that Ronnie and Jason independently exhibited in the old DC. While I think the notion of multiple Firestorms to be interesting, I find the whole "we hate each other but have to work together" to be tired (and tiring).

As a Firestorm reader, I spent all of Brightest Day watching these two good guys learn to work together enough to confront the Anti-Monitor... and now we're back to Firestorm Square One.

Ah, well. DCnU has me buying different books, but not more books. Too bad Firestorm isn't one of them. Best of luck to the new creators!

She commented in another thread but it sounds like difficulties with the editor.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

Yup but she chose to leave. So hope things work out for her other project.

Firestorm is best written in a team book like JLA......give up on a solo series DC.

I think the thing is they had good hate reason in brightest day where as in this situation with them on the run they have really minor reasons not to rally

Personality i guess. I didnt really like how issue one and two went. Because jason was supposed to be a nerd but yet he was being a dick to ronnie the star quarterback. Didnt really fit the stereotypes. Also, I'd rather ronnie be the dick, but this charming quarterback kinda playboy who hits on tonya and every single girl in school. Then let ronnie and jason have their conflict there. The plot from issue one and two felt a little forced. Resulting in neither of the boys being likeable. Besides since ronnie and jason are both relatively obscure characters they need a really strong personality to stand out. Issue one and two gave us neither. Issue 3 was great because we got to see more of the villains and the green monster was kinda cool. Also killer frost and her boyfriend seemed like great villains for firestorm.

At least in issue 3 both ronnie and jason are working together so their forced conflict was non existent. That being said, im a huge fan of both ethan and gail. I also love the concept of firestorm protocol. So ill probably stay on for one more arc. Then decide.

I like the Protocols Idea. And while I don't mind some dysfunction, too much hate is a bad thing.

This simply isn't true. I own everyone of his solo series, and his last one lasted for over 3 years, which isn't bad all things considering.

And his second series lasted 100 issues, which is very good, imo.
There are four stages of matter. Solid. Liquid. Gas & Don't. It's science.
I am a male. Deal with it.

I liked the first issue because they didn't fit the stereotype. Jason was being an ass even though he's the nerd. Nerds can be mean too. Ronnie was the dumb jock with a heart. Yeah he had black friends on the team but they didn't hang out outside of school.
The 2nd issue is what really made them both unlikeable to me. They were both being selfish and overbearing.
Still haven't read the 3rd issue yet. It's lying on a pile with the week 3 and 4 books I've yet to read.

I really can't tell where this book is going. DC really took Firestorm in a direction I didn't expect
