i would have been interested in this if i were still getting monthly comics but i could see it getting way out of control & too expensive. the 12 part mini alone will probably be $ 48.00. if the story spills into every other avengers/x-men book (which there are too many of to begin with) i would certainly have to limit the tie-ins, probably only getting the issues of series i would have normally been getting.

will this provide a conclusion as to who or what hope is? maybe. is jean grey coming back in this, as in the actual jean grey character? i doubt it. marvel should have tied up hope's story with the second coming crossover. what happened instead was more teasing & foreshadowing. i'm not that confident that this series will do anything other than continue the trend. something will happen with her, the phoenix will be involved, but as far as beyond that, who knows.
    and i'm counting 1, counting 2, counting 3...

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the price, either. :/

Maybe they should space it out to a monthly? That would make the price seem less steep, and it might be kinda cool to have a year-long event. Unless it sucks. In which case, end it as soon as possible.

I'm hoping for the best otherwise the following fills me with dread:

"If you're talking about 'Uncanny X-Men' or 'Secret Avengers' or 'New Avengers' or 'Wolverine & The X-Men'...it's going to be all 'AvX' all the time in the Avengers and X-Men books."

...and there is the above in bold.

This Hope/Phoenix saga has been going on for years and I have been over it since MC ended. They could not have decided on a worse plot to go with in the hopes of pulling me in. (Well, yes they could have...but Hope/Phoenix/AvsX is right up there with the worst of the worst).

They said this about Fear Itself, Siege, Civil War, Battle Scars (Which died down QUICKLY), Dark Reign, Heroic Age, Shadowland, Three, Spider-Island, Onslaught Unleashed, and LASTLY Chaos War this has been nothing but talk. UNTIL I see the reviews and Scarlet Witch/Hope's interaction (I pray it's not Hope acting like a confused teen) I will not pick this up.

It's good to be warned. I'll be reading something else, thank you.

May I submit Fear Itself as evidence of a lot of talk with no action to back it up?
    Chaos War?
    Dark Reign and Siege?

    1. Flashpoint didn't drag any regular ongoing books into it.

    2. The 52 crossovers are contained to their genres, i.e. Animal Man and Swamp Thing crossing over or Frankenstein and OMAC.

    3. It's sad that I can't tell you what most series over at Marvel are about, they're constantly dragged into crossovers and never given a chance to breathe on their own.
No way, a dc fan is not looking forward to a Marvel event!!!!!
i can not say i am susprised because of that,Fifty Two(52).

Well i always chose just to collect the tie ins to events i like.
I never went getting all the tie ins of a event,so that does not bother me.

And one of the things that makes me thing this will be a awesome event to read,is the scope this will have.

I mean if a battle royale between Avengers and X-men was not enough to read this, there is still Phoenix that is a major mythical and cosmic entity in the Marvel stories ever since the Dark Phoenix Saga.

I'm not even much of an X-Men fan, and even I'm tired of the many returns of the Phoenix. Really, the X-Men should just say "Look guys, we've handled the Phoenix just fine the last dozen times. We've got this, okay? And if the Phoenix does return (again), running roughshod over the host and her friends is not going to help. A lot of our guys have joined the Avengers over the years, so you should be able to trust us, ok? Just let us do our thing."

But that way you don't have a 12 issue "event" for $4 an issue.. plus a zero issue, three double sized issues, and tie-ins in almost every Avengers and X-Men book.. plus "fallout" issues.

In the current context (The whole Scarlet With thing in House of M),it is reasonable to make a argument why would the X-men not trust the Avengers in resolving the Phoenix issue.
And Avengers as being the main force in keeping the world save have reasons to not such a powerful cosmic as Phoenix just a mater to X-Men resolve.

I think the writers in this event have prove already they are great writers and will make this a great event.

And then there is the visual aspect of this,i mean i could not ask for a better trio of artists to illustrate a all around Marvel event.
Romita Jr,Coipel and Kubert are some of the best of the best artist in the comic book industry, period.

Oddly enough I don't see it being all mutants siding with the Xmen or all super-powered people siding with the Avengers...... I see alot of flipping going around with both groups. Beast,Storm(maybe) and Wolverine and his crew are all siding with the Avengers....... So could the New Avengers or Young Avengers be siding with the X-Men????

In the end I could the alot more mutants on Avengers rosters and the term X-Men possibly including some more former Avengers.......

A 2 issue crossover is hardly an event though. That's going back to how things used to be - just a little bit of connectivity.

That statement illicits a big laugh from everyone in the room while the person about to go on camera chuckles and tells everyone to shut up because they're going on live. But the question is asked if we'll take the bullsh*t explanation they give us, filled with theoretical crap about getting into the head of the characters and how they would approach something, and then hope to God that they fill the time with that. Someone in the background shakes their head and the main guy tells him to quit being a pu$$y and turn the camera on. Some giggling goes on before the camera turns on and then out spills the biggest sack of sh*t Marvel can give us about a storyline retread from the 90's and remarkably echoing what just transpired in another storyline they just did. Hmm. Kinda' pisses me off that I've been collecting this long and never bothered to notice how they keep doing the same sh*t over and over again.
Amen to that!!! It's the way I feel too
