But in staying with the current discussion we've been reading about the Avengers for the past7+ years in whatever shape or form they've taken. The team may not have had the traditional makeup, but they were Avengers nonetheless. We've seen in the past where the team has consisted of non traditional members.
Exactly. That was the point I was trying to make with all the images I posted from Roger Stern and Bob Harras' era. You could make the same type of arguments of their runs as you can of Bendis'. But no one doubts their validity. Heck, I remember a story where it was brought up how different the Avengers in Harras' run were from the original lineup, similar to how the characters in Bendis' run asked if they were really Avengers. But the point of that Harras story was to say that while they were different, they were still Avengers. And the same could be, and has been said, of this latest team members.

Pretty much. I enjoyed Harras' Avengers as much as I enjoyed Stern's or Kurt Busieks.

Epting's name kinda pops out because of all the talk of Harras run. The art was definately a BIG part of what I liked about that run.

Steve McNiven and Bradon Peterson should rotate. They'd be perfect
I'm happy with Caselli on ASM. Coipel should move to the X-line.

I'd rate him up there as one of the best Avengers artists ever. I'd love to see him back drawing Avengers again.

I don't know if McNiven is a good fit with the Avengers. If not Epting then my next choice would be Caselli or Cheung. Caselli did fabulous work on A:TI and Cheung is just excellent on Young Avengers.

Cheungs stuff is great but I'm iffy about him being able to handle the monthly grind of an on-going. If he can pull if off I'd LOVE him on the book.

I loved McNiven's New Avengers arc ("Sentry"). His Captain America work is incredibly cool and he did an awesome job depicting the team in Civil War. I think he's Marvel's best. It's a shame he's so slow.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to wear him out. If they could rotate him with another artist on the title, that would help alot.

I wonder if New Avengers will fold. If it does, I'd be all for twice monthly Avengers, isn't it working well enough for Spider-Man. Along those lines, I'd be up for a rotating cast of creative teams as well. Hell, if you wanted to cement the fact that the Avengers are the Marvel team, take a couple of architects and have them rotate. Fraction's arc is sucking? Well, that's ok because Hickman's up at bat and Bru's in the dugout.

Not Larocca, Cheung or Coipel. Coipel and Larocca are better on Thor and Iron Man, respectively. Cheung is too damn slow for an ongoing. I think Caselli is a little too cartoony for Avengers.

My personal choice would be Immonen.
