But then, you have to take into account the Randell passageway, but we'll ignore that for simplicity here.
But, hasn't it been less then 8, or 88, years? So why would they be able to open it now, when they couldn't then? And what kind of lousy planning needs to match an 8 year occurrence ,with one that is completely random, and not guaranteed to ever happen again?

But, he's not the cause. Marvel is the cause.

How long ago (Marvel time) has it been since Danny's last series? Is it not possible that it's still the same year, which is why it's open? It's comics, of course there's a huge coincidence that these two things line up.

Plus, it's only been the first issue. Look, I'll help you shit all over Bendis until the cows come home, but at least give the guy the opportunity to mess up first. He hasn't yet messed this connection up.

Yeah, but you can't discredit Bendis either. He was what the franchise needed. He had a fresh new take on the Marvel Universe, and especially the Avengers. However, he's been oversaturated and had stayed on wayyyyy too long. But the combination of his buzz and fresh style along with the event driven model rose the Avengers to the top. It wasn't just one person, nor was it not Bendis at all.

My rage cannot be contained! It can transcend time itself! But, you're right. Just tired of the whole "secret unknown never before told history" stories. Like I said earlier, I feel that it cheapens the concepts and characters, by taking away their uniqueness.

And I don't mean to discredit Bendis. But it wasn't a one man show, and I feel that it's wrong to say things like "there wouldn't be a movie without him" and "he brought the franchise to the top."

There is some truth to the statement that New Avengers with Cap, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Wolverine was bound to do well since that is basically all of Marvel's solo characters minus Hulk and DD (Thor was dead at the time).

But Bendis deserves a lot of the credit. I haven't enjoyed his Avengers, but it certainly sells.

My counterargument to that has always been the same: Look at Twilight.

They made some controversial moves with characterization but in the end, it all paid off with what we're now seeing in theaters. They couldn't do that with the X-Men and reap the benefits of a great movie.
Wow. This makes a lot of sense. Will they ever get the rights back?

That's a good question. I hope they do at some point in the future so that the X-Men movie franchise can be saved and done properly.

I've heard First Class was pretty good, and that they hope to make it a franchise. But, yes, I would prefer Marvel to make them, since they have a pretty good handle on that. I think the rights go back to Marvel if Fox doesn't do anything with them after a certain amount of time. I know that that was a pretty big motive for the latest Spider-Man film. Sony was close to losing the rights.

First Class was a step in the right direction but it had to face alot of skepticism after the last bombs by Fox. And it's hard to build the movie franchise when it really reflects nothing going on in the titles.

I agree with you that Marvel really needs to find a way to get the rights back to the X-Men before Fox does something stupid, like kill Cyclops. Too late.

    Keep moving the goalposts.

It had enough momentum to maintain 3 books for some years, without Spider-Man, Wolverine and mega-events every 6 months.

As for K'un Lun, the normal portals open every 10 years or so, but it's possible to create other portals between those times. Master Khan created a few of them at different times.

Hey, that's what I'm here for. At least it wasn't as bad as Catwoman, Superman IV, Superman Returns, Green Lantern, Jonah Hex, Constantine and Batman and Robin.

I have not actually seen Catwoman, or Superman IV. And I actually liked Green Lantern. Sure it had flaws...many, many, many, flaws. Ok, so it wasn't really a good movie by any means. But, well, I love Green Lantern, so there's that.
