Well he did beat the entire team of the X-Men single-handedly in Secret Wars. Of course, Magneto wasn't on the team then. But as long as his web-shooters and utility belt use a carbon fiber composite (or something like that) rather than metal he should still be good.

How about a two-issue tie-in miniseries where he has to go up against Juggernaut/Colossus? Play off the classic "Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut" story, only with an opponent potentially even more powerful and deadly than Cain Marko was.

    Good question.

Spider-Man have been a Avenger for years now,but at the same time he is friends of many X-Men as Wolverine,Beast.

So it will be interesting to see how will be Spider-Man role in the Avengers vs X-Men event.
    Pull List:Uncanny Avengers,Avengers,Superior Spider-Man,Daredevil,Captain America,Thor:God of Thunder,Swamp Thing.

Didn't he play a key role in getting Adam Warlock's soul released from the soul gem in order to defeat Thanos a long time ago? That ain't no joke.

Way back in the 80's, it was the war between Earth's heroes (and Warlock) and Thanos when they both "killed" each other.

He'll make bad jokes once in awhile.
He'll say to the Avengers, "Wow guys, Spider-Sense is going off"...
He'll wine about having to fight Wolverine or Iceman.

Spider-Man is nothing in events or really Avengers (one reason I currently don't read Avengers or NA; and I read every NA issue). He was totally under utilized in Dark Reign. It's a crying shame.
Doc Ock - I'm Peter Parker.
Peter Parker - Not anymore Spider-Man. From now on I'm Peter Parker.

    Good post Ryan. - Oldschool

I cannot recommend Scarlet Spider enough, but here's trying.

I think he should have a bigger role in this event because it effects him more as he is tied to both sides. I didnt mind him being in the background for fear itself as it wasnt really his story, but this might affect him more.

    Thats great...

If Spider-man will just joke around in the event series.

We better have a one shot where he beats up those Mutants.

But why does he even have to beat up mutants in the first place? This event is so contrived. I wish Peter would just tell the Avengers what douches they are for being all up in the X-Men's business regarding the Phoenix Force and wants to play no part in making an already dire situation much worse with an unasked for all-out brawl. Seriously, if the writers had been true to Spidey's character, he wouldn't be taking sides but instead, playing the mediator. But no, Marvel is hell bent on making the Avengers their premiere characters for next year's movie so god forbid Spider-Man or the X-Men steal the spotlight in any manner.

He wasn't an idiot. He just picked a random machine. I suggest you re-read Secret Wars I. He owned the X-Men and took down Titania. Also his web shooters helped to get them out from under the mountain in #4. He did some other cool stuff as well.

Spidey's brain and access to his new lab gives him an advantage over magneto, and what I like about slott's run that gets it where other spidey powers fail is that spidey's brain always give him a shot against earth born threats.

Also why doesn't anyone just step-up and use the ultimate nullifier on the phoenix

Magneto is not an idiot he is actually probably about the same level of intelligence as Parker if not smarter.

Simple. PF is also the life force of the universe if u were to permanently kill the PF u would also commit suicide for yourself assuming you are a native of 616 Dimension if u come from another Dimension u should be fine.
