Default What will Spider-Man's role be in Avengers Vs. X-Men?

    http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=35774

Marvel has announced 2012's crossover event, Avengers Vs. X-Men.

What will Spider-Man do in this crossover? Will he play a significant part? Will he beat up on some of the X-Men only for Xavier to wipe his mind of that (again)?

And the most important question of all. Will he make funny quips? (The answer to that one is "yes.")
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

Nothing important at all considering Danny Slott isn't involved.

As dumb as the concept is, why isn't Slott an "architect"? He's writing Spider-Man for god's sakes... and he wrote a crossover that people actually seemed to like.
I'd just like everyone to know that not only am I dropping Marvel, I'm dropping this forum considering I'm not even allowed to voice a negative opinion because a thread "isn't about me".

I think the trick is to keep the cast limited in big events. Something like 'Secret Wars' was great because EVERY character in the Marvel U. wasn't involved. The characters who were involved each got a fair amount of face time.

It's trickier to do these days because all the movies, cartoons, and outside media make more characters recognizable to the masses. I would like to see an X-Men vs. Avengers event that doesn't involve the FF, Daredevil, the Punisher, or everyone who has ever been an Avenger or an X-Man.

I'd rather not see Spider-man as a teacher again. Although having him be a guest speaker or a special substitute could be interesting.

For some odd reason, I expect that Spider-man will be on the Avengers side.

At Best: an AVX one shot or tie-in mini series ala Fear Itself.

I agree, no matter how any Spider-man fan feels about the current Run of Spider-Man. i think we all can agree that it suck that spidey again getting craped on in Crossover events since WWH. i mean hell one of the last big ones HAD HIS BIGGEST VILLAIN IN IT!!!!!!! you know, the one that killed his girlfriend. and all he did was make jokes and only got one hit on Norman. i was waiting all over Dark Reign and Siege for Peter to at least tell The New Avengers about why he hates Norman Other then he's my best friend's Dad and he gave Venom his Name. or i dont know have him at least help take him out.

now you do another event with The "Arcitects" of the Marvel universe writing it and you don't have the head writer of Spider-man on it.
    pull list:
Amazing Spider-man, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Action Comics, and Batman

Spider-Man is a joke when it comes to cosmic or company wide events. Even in Secret Wars, he was the idiot that went to the wrong machine to fix his clothes - look what that got him At best he delivers a few quips. At worst the Avengers blame him for the fallout and he's a pariah/outcast again.

On a similarly related note, has anyone noticed they are down to the top 12 Avengers in the CBR poll and Spider-Man is (inexplicably) and most likely included in that list...

Member of the Avengers who for some reason gets top billing along with Captain America and Iron man despite having been dropped from The Avengers team?

I can't figure it out. Do you actually like Spider-Man?

Serious question in a snark-free zone.
