If you took Sime's hair and Williams III's beard, I think anyone would look incredible.
That would be "Promethea"...Williams, known for his critically acclaimed work with Alan Moore on "Prometheus"
They keep referring to Bette Kane as the original Batwoman. They mean Bat-Girl, of course. I can't tell if that's the creators misspeaking or CBR mis-editing.
It's probably a mis-editing from CBR, J.H. Williams knows Bette's story and the reason that he's using her as a sidekick is because she was the original Batgirl. Also, I love that he's planning to develope more of Bette's character because she has always been dull to me.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.
I totally love this series and I think the creators are doing a fantastic job.
That said, this situation is just plain messed up:
CBR: You've mentioned Renee Montoya, The Question, a few times in the first three issues, noticeably, her absence from those issues. Shouild fans expect to see her enter the book, or is her part in Kate Kane's story over?
Williams: We've got some vague ideas on how to deal with that character, but right now she's kind of in limbo. Honestly, we really don't know what the DC Comics edict on her character is.
Blackman: With the New 52, it feels like a lot of continuity is being invented as they go along.God, DC, please get your act together. These issues shouldn't be issues at this point. I'd have been a million times happier if the time and effort that went into, I don't know, Flashpoint and all its crossovers, had been put into clearing things like this up before the new 52 debuted.CBR: Are there any plans to touch more on the new Bette Kane's Teen Titans past, or are you going to stay away from that whole continuity mess for now?
Williams: Well, we've kinda been told we can't. [Laughs]
Blackman: We had some lines that referenced it, but we had to change them. It's because the continuity is kinda evolving over time. If you go back and read issue #1, we have a line in there where [Bette Kane] references the Teen Titans.
Williams: She flat out says it. From that point forward, we can't really talk about it. For now, anyway.
Again, all that said... fantastic series, fantastic creators, will definitely keep picking up.

It's so freaking disheartening. The fans have put acres more thought into the new continuity than the editors. Like when I asked Gail Simone if Steph and Cass's continuity was mostly intact and the answer was basically "we don't know, it hasn't been decided". This was months into the reboot - with two issues already published, and the writer of freaking Batgirl didn't know what had happened to these two in the past because no one did.CBR: Are there any plans to touch more on the new Bette Kane's Teen Titans past, or are you going to stay away from that whole continuity mess for now?

Glad to be able to put a face to the name.
Williams is one of my favourite artists.![]()
Well, it was no secret that they're doing this flying by the seat of their pants....
Jean Grey : What makes you such a bitch, Emma?
Emma Frost : Breeding, darling. Top class breeding.
I am waiting for the next Deluxe Edition of Batwoman!!! The first is excellent and the preview pages I have seen for the New 52 version are very excellent too!!!
So, my credit card is waiting. Impatiently...
For those who may told me to buy the singles, I already have a huge monthly list with a strict budget. So, if I want to read Batwoman in single, one DC New 52 or an indie must go to the axe...
I am making adjustment in my monthly list too. So, I do not know what will be the next pre-orders... I already have canceled pre-orders for titles from the Edge line, but I think that I will reintegrate them in the monthly list...
(But there is a possibility if I definitely cancel the D&D and Magic comic books- they are so childish titles vs Valen The Outcast, Elric and Games of Throne!!)
It's so sad to hear yet again that DC didn't really plan the whole relaunch very well. You'd think that they would have made up their minds about the Teen Titans and Renee Montoya's status by now...
Interesting that they "deleted" Grayson as Batman, Red Robin, Lady Blackhawk and others on the Batman Inc. spread from issue #2, but they kept Renee as the Question in there even though they had no idea about what they were doing with her.
I really hope Williams and Blackman get to incorporate Renee into the book eventually, not as the Question but as a detective.
That's what seemed so silly to me about forcing Renee to be The Question. Not only did it require eliminating a great character already using the name (although they could have just made him a mentor), it doesn't add anything to what she could already do. She was a detective. Making her The Question mutes her contribution to the diversity of DC's stable, and doesn't grant her any new abilities. Why bother?
The reblaunch gives them a chance to undo this. Maybe the Batwoman book will take advantage of that. Either way, I think the current crew will do nearly as good a job, under the nU circumstances, as Rucka could have, if they do get to bring Renee in.
So Williams said he normally only does 6 issues a year. Does this mean he is only on for the first arc of Batwoman? Please tell me he is on this book for the long haul.
