Yeah, in the Ages of Apocalypse reality (not to be confused with Age of Apocalypse reality) Storm evolved into an elemental energy being.

Is using alternate realities really good for references? Because in X-Men the end Storm is paralyzed because of her powers...

No that was an alternate future not an alternate reality. The Ages Of Apocalypse reality was destroyed for the last time when Jean was able to get her memory back due to Cyclops' connection to her. After that the time line was restored and Apocalypse left everything untouched until 100 years later, when he tricked their future selves into repowering his machine.

Well the real X-Men actually lived through the different realities shown in Ages of Apocalypse. They were kinda like alternate presents like in Age of X, even though some of the realities in Ages of Apocalypse took place in the past or future.

When Apocalypse gained the power of the Twelve, the X-Men got temporarily caught up in a wave of reality warping energy or something.

Iceman is potential, and Storm is actuality.

He's not terribly strong yet, but he's going to get better someday (supposedly). She's phenomenally powerful, but that's more or less as good as she's going to get.

I guess it depends on how far I'm willing to be strung along by the "potential" line. In the 90s, I was totally sold on Iceman, but then he NEVER WENT ANYWHERE for ten years, and my admiration and hope turned to annoyance.

By contrast, Storm is my favorite character in Marvel comics. Unfortunately, her arc for character growth is a little limited, given everything she's already been through.

So in the long run, I prefer Storm until Iceman starts coming back into his own as a character. However, liking one doesn't mean I hate the other.

Yes, and the last one ended when Jean got her memory back. After that he lost his power and created a scenario in the future that tricked them into repowering his machine when they thought they were powering it to save an old dying Xavier.

Storm wins, mostly because her power branch out into more then just one element.

I agree that Magma is better than both the con artist and the closet case.

all alternate futures are alternate realities. The AsoA timeline isnt a guaranteed future for the current 616 and as such has diverged into its own thing. Its one of MANY possibilities and the characters are different among different alternate futures
