    Default Haunt #19

It was good, but could of been better. It didn't feel like it followed #18 too well. This issue feels like it could of been #21 or 22 know what i'm saying. And this sux for Autumn, I really liked that chick :/

Haunt was my fav comic before Greg and Kirkman left, I hope the new team can keep me interested.
I really want this serie to grow and developpe properly. Let's hope for the best.

I actually really enjoyed it. I felt like we got more character development in this one issue than we got in the previous 18 (albeit development in a different direction).

I agree it didn't follow issue 18 at all. Last issue seemed like they were setting up a new direction and this issue they seemed to blow all of that away and go somewhere different. But I'm really fine with that. The old book felt flat and stale to me.

I'm also happy to see Todd really let the new team take control and move the book wherever they want to. So with that, I can understand why some people are really going to hate the book now. A lot of the old characters are now gone (maybe for good) and the ones that are left act like different people.

I'm excited to see where they take things.

I honestly was only into this title for Ottley and Capullo. I recently bought issues 13-18 and they were quite weak.
Apart from TWD and Invincible Kirkman's work can't really convince me, so maybe I give the new team a chance. Then again I'm not a fan of the art.

Writing was better than that of recent issues.

Art is a mixed bag. Sometimes fun, energetic and expressive, other times very cluttered and muddled. Colours also vary.

Didnt follow on from 18 too well but i am intrigued by where things will go from here.

Not bad but could have been better. Ill stick around for now and see what happens.

    Sucks bout Autumn :(

Haunt was a great concept, just like spawn is a great concept, but for awhile it was running into the same problem that spawn has had in the past which is not getting past the concept. A great idea needs supported by great characters, plot and giving you a great payoff thematically and on a personal level. This issue maybe swept aside some things people enjoyed, but it definetely shifted what it left, and introduced, into a much better focus. Loved the art but I agree it was slightly confusing once or twice. I'm definetely more confident about following the book now and really my only uncertainty is one I have with any book I read that has no planned "end": will this thing just get to a point where it collapses on itself? Will i be satisfied in the end by characters who aren't going to find some sort of finality? I'm onboard for now at least.

Default Thank you and farwell, Haunt...

The art just killed it for me. I couldn't bring myself to buy it, plus with the book moving away from the stuff I liked the most--the covert black ops stuff--to concentrate more on the supernatural horror (Spawn-like) angle, it was easy to leave this on the shelf...

the art was just terrible, it really ruined it for me and took me out of the story. It reminded me of some of that rubbish artwork in the Transformers comics in the 80's

    Default on the fence...

I love Haunt and this issue was just very tough for me. A very drastic change in style. I just felt like it was too much to quick. I will stick with it for a while but thats just because I am a sucker for Kirkman created stuff.

My thoughts and grade on the issue:

Haunt #19 (C-) The new creative team takes over this issue and it unfortunately did not really work for me. I think Nathan Fox is going to be one of those artist without much grey area - either you love him or hate him. And I'm really not into his style at all. It pretty much impossible to tell what's going on in most of the book, particularly the action scenes. There is no way that if you didn't know what book you were reading that you would be able to tell that the figure in the first few pages was Haunt. The writing was hit and miss for me. The dialogue and religious speeches were eye-rollingly over the top. Dead brother Kurt was just a real unhelpful dick which is not at all how he was previously characterized. Likewise, his appearent slide into the darkside comes suddenly and out of nowhere. But there were some interesting parts such as the disappearance of the spy agency Haunt was working for and the surprising death at the end. I'll give the new team another issue or two before making a decision on this book.

    Default Haunt review

I have to agree with the C- on this book. I love the first story arc of Haunt and I feel like I have just been waiting for more every month. This issue that just came out with the new team was very very tough to follow. I really tried hard to keep reading and it was just so tough. The art was so dark and the writing went along with it, the ending was pretty crazy but damn. I'm a sucker for clean bright colors.. I will buy this book again but if this story arc ends up getting the book cancelled I will be pissed because I think this story and characters has SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

Im a little late to the party with Haunt and was actually enjoying it. One of the biggest reasons was the art. It started to create characters and plot lines... Then the creative team changes and it goes in a totally different direction.

It's sad because the world it developed just suddenly disappeared and characters changed.

I am indifferent about the art, had they kept the story going I would have stuck around but I'm done with this book.

Is one issue really enough to judge about where theyre taking the story though?
I highly doubt Hurg, Tosh, Mirage and Cobra etc are gone forever.

I dropped the book after reading #19. Story, art, and the fact it wasn't at the top of my list to begin with made it an easy cut. I never did like the look of the Haunt character.
