I suspect people will see what I'm up to with Captain Britain in the arc in time.

But is it a reassurance or a threat?

I'm preferring to think Brian's "bally Loki" outbursts are Gillen's own parody of Remender -- he's already extinguished the one that's appeared in UXF and SA in my mind.

I really enjoyed Journey Into Mystery 639, if none of you have picked it up yet. The kind of stories you want British writers working in the Marvel toybox to tackle. No doubt, the more eagle-eyed and learned of lore could illuminate gross transgressions of continuity, but I just think JiM is bloody good fun.

I picked it up due to the Otherworld storyline, and also since it was only £2 on comixology, take note Marvel, this is impulse purchase pricing £2.49 and I start to get picky.

Glad I did pick this though.

    spoilers:
I like the fact that Gillen seems to be continuing Cornells Otherworld as the British subconscious idea. Also some recognition of the fact the Otherworlds been in the wars a fair bit recently (three times in the last Marvel year by my count)

    Some brilliant lnes as well;

"Behold Camelot, no obvious jokes please"
    end of spoilers

I have just been over in the JiM thread reading about #639. I cant wait to read it. I have already seen that spoilers:
Oberon shows up, am I'm hoping with everything that I have that Tink will be in this as well. Tink and Little Loki would be the bestest thing ever.
end of spoilers I hope this pulls us out of the funk we have been since Uncanny and SA.

Feels great to be excited about Cap again.

Oh, Oberon doesn't show up on panel. spoilers:
The story just indicates that the Manchester God "rose in the North" of Otherworld, where Oberon's Fairyland has been established to exist in the Marvel sources. And Gillen seems to acknowledge this, as the faeries (generic, unnamed faeries, mind you) are among the first witnesses (and victims) of the Manchester God.
    end of spoilers

Herne the Hunter trying to negotiate with a London Cabdriver made my day.

Poor Brian. The younger Hipper Loki is now way too cool to get any of his cultural references.

I look forward to the scene where Cappy desperately tries to explain The Two Ronnies to Loki.

Arrrg, nuts, I must learn to read (great review by the way). My apologies to anyone who got excited. I guess there is still time for Tink or Oberon to show up.

Just read JiM....absolutely awesome! So happy with this 1st issue of this arc....everything that an Otherworld arc SHOULD be. I hope it wins some new fans over.

In related, was good to see our boy (if in the distance) in AvX. I may have issue with his portrayal but at least he's mixing with the big boys these days.

Personally, my fingers are crossed for a Leir appearance. The Dagda and Caber have already played a role, could Leir be far behind?

Is SA#27 out now? I'll probably get it through the post sometime in the next few days.

I've been reading the Captain Britain stories with Jackdaw. I still think a new human archer character called Jackdaw would be pretty cool. (That's just my biased opinion yearning for a modern Hawkeye/Green Arrow rival with a UK identity.) The link to the original would be non-existent though. But Loki has convinced me that Jacko Tanner wouldn't be a good choice to take on the role.

I haven't read anything with Jackdaw but I completely agree that some kind of yeoman archer needs his/her place amongst the UK's post-human fraternity.

I still miss Jackdaw. He was a great character. He died far too young >sigh<
