New interview with Kieron Gillen about "Journey Into Mystery."

"I can't say much about the arc after 'The Terrorism Myth' except that it's a big story that will have people saying, 'That's interesting. I wonder why they're doing that.'" Gillen continued. "The arc after that is set in Otherworld; the realm of Captain Britain and the mystical subconsciousness of Britain."

Gillen is probably my favorite comic writer ever. I own basically everything he's ever written, minus a couple marvel one-shots he did and one anthology he was a part of.

His ongoing Thor/JIM saga is a modern big two classic. I know he and Remender are working closely with the X-Books, since Uncanny will be following up on some events from X-Force's Dark Angel Saga, so I'm sure they will be collaborating with their Otherworld stories. And remember the Otherworld reference from the Mephisto issue of JIM? I'm so excited right now.

I like Albion. I hope they bring him back at some point. If he did come back which costume would be used? His original appearance or the Volume 2 re-design. The original was much better.

I'm being introduced to the Marvel UK titles by my friend and I absolutely love the diversity in the characters. We have quite a lot compared to other countries in Marvel.

I'd actually prefer a re-tweaking of Peter Hunter's original Albion costume. He might be a retconned character, be he was around as a hero long before the likes of The Invaders, and I'd love to see a slightly more embellished golden age style Albion costume used.

That sounds interesting, Sword, did you have a specific re-desighn in mind. I'd just be interested in what you were thinking of in terms of a re-design to make his appearance more golden-age style.

    Cheers.

We need a new Knights of Pendragon mini-series. I mean, Union Jack isn't up to much. Neither are real knights like Excalibur and Black Knight. Add Albion and Dai Thomas and we have a nice little line-up. I don't really know that much about Adam Crown, Breeze or Grace (part from being a villain with the Bane) so I'm not sure how well they would fit in with modern Marvel. But it would be nice to see.

It wouldn't be a huge redesign. Just a bit of embellishing on the mask and cape. Maybe rope edging on the cape. Just little touches which connect the costume with the tradition of British military costume, as well as classic superheroism.

And the Lion motif has to stay.

Thanks for the description, Sword. I have to agree that the Lion motif MUST stay, but I think I might get rid of the cape entirely, I think his costume might look better without it. At the least I would significantly shorten it.

Just as a point of interest, does anyone else think that the Albion Chris Claremont introduced in NEW EXCALIBUR could have had his costume (not his identity, we know what that is), slightly based on Peter Hunter (good name btw )

    Cheers.

    James.
