I always liked him with Hephzibah, they made an interesting couple. Whatever happened with that?

Did anyone explain why Warpath stayed on Utopia instead of going to New York??

I think my favorite romantic pairing was with Theresa (Siryn) as she dealt with her alcoholism during theFabian Nicieza/Greg Capullo/Tony Daniel era.

I saw a Warpath Statue at my LCS and it was pretty cool.

It is interesting how they display Warpath's powers. First he was just had enhanced strength, durability and reflexes and a skilled enough fighter to take on Wolverine. Then they made him more of just a powerhouse. Then he could run almost 100 mph. I am going to ignore the flying. I wish we could see a better demonstration of his ability and skills. I mean the enhanced reflexes and speed as well as the strength. He is so much more than just a "strong guy" and I want to see that more.

With his strength speed and reflexes, he should be plowing through many fighters/combatants.

HE's basically a guy that can stand toe to to with the Hulk one minute but then is fast enough and agile enough to fight a skilled hand to hand fighter the next without using his powers, that and he's about the tallest X-character they have...always loved Warpath, just wish that they'd let he and Siryn have a chance together someday.

You made my point. So many times his powers are displayed as either power or speed but I would love an writer come in and show the combination together. That kind of power and speed together should make Jimmy a terrifying opponent. I cannot think of another character with a similar power set with his combat skills.

He's basically one of those large semi's that could turn on a dime and fit in an average to slightly large parking space...hmm, leaves me to wonder if he went real fast and then slammed his shoulder into something say an opponent, how far would that opponent go flying...his personality is one fo the big reasons that I've always liked him as a character, he's the opposite of his stereotype, James could probably kick Cyclop's backside six ways to Sunday before he even knew what hit him, yeah there's probably very few that would give him trouble...now if only he could get some romance, with a woman that's perfect for him...Terry/Siryn.

I seriously love this character. Warpath is probably my fave male X-man outside of Bedlam. : ) So yeah, first post to Appreciation thread. I really dig that he is this really gentle, sweet, zen kind of dude but gets murderous over things like ice cream and impolite manners and etiquette. lol. He's really compelling.

I would love for a writer to show that "Warpath" isn't just his code name- it's what he does. much in the way a telepath can read and influence minds- Warpath can read and influence battle. He should be able to jump into a fire fight and move through it with a balletic grace. Chaotic Battle should be his element where he shines because he's able to see the patterns and rythm of it better than any other X-man.

Someone also mentioned that it would be cool for him to be able to pull any weapon out of thin air. i totally agree that this should be his secondary mutation. Kind of like the total opposite of Lifeguard- He would be able to use any weapon appropriate for any situation, or foe.

i have always said that a great character beat was to make him a metal head with a heart of gold and a love of ice cream! I saw "Hesher" with Joseph Gordon Levitt and I think that's a great character model.

How are you guys liking Warpath over in Ultimate XMen the last few months? I like his look, but we haven't seen him really do much in terms of display of powers.

I'd rather James not get a secondary mutation, most of which iirc have by now been repealed or forgotten about anyway. I've never liked him with the knives and hoped that he'd get rid of them or only use them when he needs to...James would be a very scary opponent, a guy the size of Shaq if not bigger that's as agile as a gymnast...scary...

Agreed. James should be like a tactical genius. Running different battle plans in his mind, seeing the best routes to take, sensing movement through vibrations in the ground etc. It is one of the things I loved during Brubaker's run. He always had Jimmy fighting and using his senses when he needed whereas K&Y had him as the big tank with knives.

While the weapons thing sounds cool. Idk that I would actually like to see him with it. I like his regular powers with the occasional flight(I like fliers idc) thrown in the mix. I wouldn't mind him carrying a small array of weapons on his person at all times though; knives, bo staff, small axe, taser guns, etc.

I haven't been reading but I'm thinking of going to pick up the current run. The scans I have seen look great and I like what I've been seeing of his relationship with Psylocke, obviously.

This question is super old but I wanted to answer it anyway. I actually think a suitable woman albeit a little unonventional for James would be.....Sally Blevins!
I just see qualities in the both of them that could make it work. They both have the past of losing family members close to them, being used by their enemies and holding some serious grudges. But James has that good hearted tough guy thing going that could get past Skids' somewhat standoff-ish demeanor. Also, she has major trust issues(hence her duplicitous nature) and Jimmy is like the definition of loyalty and would totally help her get past it. From her he gains a partner. Someone who he can really let loose and be himself around. Who isn't afraid to speak her mind and tell him like it is and just show him new things. A more conservative Risque is you will.

I just see IT for them.
