...I had a blast with this story. Normally a single issue just isn't quite enough, but this one felt meatier. Maybe it's because Cameron Stewart puts more panels to a page than most, I'm not sure. Whatever it was, it really worked for me. I look forward to the second half.

And Cameron Stewart better come back to B.P.R.D. real soon.

    Indeed.

But I think that issue alone summed up, for me, why B.P.R.D. is one of the strongest titles on the market. The interactions between Kate and Ash really showed a human side to the B.P.R.D. (something that often comes through in the more mini-series style stories) and that the agents really are just human at the end of the day.

What intrigued me, too, was what came up on Ash' record. I didn't expect it to get a mention, let alone... that.

    Amazing!

This may be my single favorite issue of the BPRD so far...and it's only part one. Oh how I wish this story were longer than two parts.

This is only the second of the Hell on Earth minis I'm buying and I almost didn't get this, but it's hard to say no to Cameron Stewart art.

I like that the story feels self-contained, but I too wish this had at least one more issue.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

Being self contained is definitely a plus, don't get me wrong I love the myth building that goes with the more continuity heavy BPRD chapters, but I really love the skill that goes into a story that really stands on it's own.

Nah, I did my first digital download. I've read stories like that before, but never for the first time. It was a fun experience. Dark Horse Digital gets my seal of approval.

Actually, I loved that it stood alone, while at the same time contributing to the stories that came before it. I'll read 1947 a little differently now. This title was very well written.

How is the viewer on DH Digital? I recently started getting a few book digitally on Comixology and I was a little disappointed they didn't have any DH titles.

Is he involved in the 40's books? I had wondered if he was when they showed the picture of him with the prof but it's been a while since I read the 40's books.

Well, I imagine on a tablet it's really good. I read it on my computer though and it was really smooth. I tried it out on my phone today, too. Obviously a phone is not the way you want to read a comic ever, but it still handled it really well. The only thing lacking is a zoom function for phones, so it's practically impossible to read the Hellmail that way. But for a computer or tablet I have no problems with the reader whatsoever.

Yeah, Ota plays a huge part in 1947. Plus it's nice to see those flaming swords again.

Don't forget the BPRD Twitter Chat tomorrow. I believe Cameron Stewart will be there (not certain) to discuss the book. So that's June 28th at 4pm Pacific Time. For further details, check out this link.

The DH Digital app on iOS is a little bloated and slow, and the store is prone to malfunctioning. That said, the web browser interface is really quite good. It's not quite as good as ComiXology or the iVerse Media apps, but it does the job.
